everybody hurts - rem
rhinestone cowboy - ??
compares to you - sinead o connor
all played at friends funerals so just cannot listen to them anymore without having real pains thinking of absent friends....
and on a lighter note - the fool who wrote the wedding march mad that still brings tears to my eyes thinking i wasted 13 years of my life with that waste of space
but happy enjoying life now as a single man rolleyes

Glen Campbell did Rhinestone cowboy I think.
I know what you mean though, songs that have associations can be very sad even if the song itself isn't.
And the wedding march guy (actually Wagner I think, Im sure it was a Trivial Pursuit question once lol) has much to answer for!

Listen to the rest, he's great, a really poignant album right down to no Bravery at the end, which is very sad.
Cold stoney hearted bastard say songs don't make me cry - I actually only get emotional during silence, I use music, any music to keep me sane and cheer me up. If I ever get really upset and start to lose my grip it seems to be when the CD has finished and I can't be arsed to get up and put another one on.
Hold on I've just thought of a song that nearly does it. I wonder who's kissing her now by Harry Nilsson from the marvellous A Little Touch of Schmilsson in the Night album (1973). If I ever had a relationship and it broke up I could put that on Repeat One and I reckon I could sob my heart out for days on end.
Ahh nothing like a cheery thread at 0230am. I must get back to my plan of not looking at any new threads and going to bed :!:

Harry Jones
there are 3 that make me cry, and I do I'm a soft bugger...
The End, Doors
Hurt, Johnny Cash
Cats in the Cradle, Ugly Kid Jo
oh my god, need to play them now
Tears in Heaven - Eric Clapton
It was written in memory of his young son Conor.
The killer verse for me
Would you hold my hand
If I saw you in heaven?
Would you help me stand
If I saw you in heaven?
Des

Sorry to hear you are having such a lousy time at moment. Take consolation in the old saying better to have loved and to have lost than to never have loved at all (the latter part being me  and I'm in deep doodoo at work  )
My face is always wet when I listen to November Rain, because I only listen to it when I have a cold and put my head over a bucket of steam with menthol crystals melted in with a towell over me and I sweat and go all wet. I use that song because I know when it finishes and I hear the word "blue" in the second song on the CD (Sweet Child) I have been under for ten minutes and it's time to come out.

Green day - Good Riddance (Time of your life)
Doesnt make me cry exactly but it touches something!!

Classic track
Then i find "Basket case" picks me up & has me jumping about the house like a demented teenager
The Song that makes me cry at the moment is "Goodbye My Lover" James Blunt
i have to switch it of if its comes on the radio and i am in company
to quote 10cc "big boys dont cry" well not in public
Bi Guy-Notts
I heard one last month that had me in floods, it was around Rememberance Day.
It's called 'The Green Fields of France' or sometimes called 'Willie McBride'
Anyone know it?
very poignant
Hows about "Tears in Heaven" By Mr Eric Clapton?
"Noy a dry eye in the house" Meatloaf, was played at my mates funeral, i cried like a little girl.
"November Rain is always a favourite, absolutlely love that song, makes my hair stand on end every time
So how have you all been? We haven't visited in a while. We're expecting a baby now so i havent had time to post on here, with working and everything, but hopefully we're gonna have some action before she gets too far on, or so she keeps telling me
Speak to you all soon Fabio and Kylie xxxx
i think its more to do with the memory attached with the song
thin line between love and hate by the Persuaders
Oh Girl by the Chi-lites
because i love you by lenny willams
so sick by Nee-yo
always bring a tear to my eyes
Hmmm...
Eminem - Stan
I first heard that one in the car, couldn't believe my ears and had to stop to cry.
Peter Gabriel - Home Sweet Home
A tale of woefully bad luck, followed by incredible good luck (which wouldn't have happened without the bad luck first) Difficult to know how to react to that!
Hey all
Just found a glaring omission from my previous post. This song is so sad, I had to turn it off halfway through the first time I heard it, because I couldn't cope, and I think it took me three attempts to be able to listen to it.
Two Little Teardrops by Rolf Harris (from the excellent 70/30 album)
This amazing tune was written by the BBC TV Piano Tuner back in the early seventies and Rolf finally recorded it in 2000.
