Jimi Hendrix - All along the watch tower (bob Dylan original).
Stevie Ray Vaughan done loads of great covers including Hendrix's Voodoo Child and The wind cry's mary both wonderful.

Just come back from 2 weeks away to this thread and don't know where to start. I think anyone who says I hate anything by "Insert name of band" is narrow minded as even someone like Robbie Williams (who I hate) can occasionally make a half decent record. Some of the stuff slagged off I like....... 
Soft Cell for example and REM.
BUT I do loathe the recent deluge of safe 'coffee table' music from the likes of Grey, Blunt, Meluia etc etc but it's the genre not the artists. Even they may one day write a song that gets near the spot for me......
If I had to pick out one song that has being diving for the off button, it's Born in the USA by Springsteen.

Don't you just hate all those cover versions of classic artists like Mozart or Beethoven? Why can't they just leave the originals alone. It seems every time I go to a classic concert it is filled with a tribute band doing a cover version ggrrrrrrrrrr .
