Can anyone tell us were the nearest nuturist (Sandy) beach is to Briighton we are so feed up with those pebbles
The only other beach along there that i can think of at the moment is Eastney beach, Portsmouth, but thats mainly pebbles too im afraid
I think most of the beaches along the SE coast are pebbly. I'd be interested to know where everyone thinks is best though. I've always gone to Calshot which is a great little beach, but a long way from me now. Anyone got any suggestions, pref near Littlehampton/Selsey? PM me thanks biggrin
lol
I dont know of any there but i do know there is a nice sandy one at st osyth in essex...very nice on the dunes there...
As far as I know the south east is pretty much all pebbles, but some beaches have sand when the tide goes out far enough. Nature is no respecter of naturists!
Apart from the official Brighton beach of course there is also the unofficial one down by Shoreham powerstation. I imagine it's pretty much the same as the others though. I wasn't too far from it this weekend near Hove lagoon, and there is some sand once the tide goes out, but it's soggy stuff, and personally I'd go for a decent beach mat and something on my feet to get to my chosen spot.
There's Camber Sands but I'm not sure whether there is a nudist part but allegedly there is, might be a bit too far though.
Thank funnyenough. That's purrfect for me - well it's the closest bit of coast anyway. Have you been fairly recently and found it still active? I mean plenty of nudists and not too many disapproving textiles confused
Hi Guys
The only official nudist beach in the S E that we know off, other than Brighton, is Shellness on the Isle of Sheppy in Kent. We have used this beach for 7 years and whilst not completely sandy it has dunes and a mix of sand and crushed shells for the main part. ( hence its called shellness biggrin )
The beach is not particually large but it can attract up to 200 people on a hot weekend, although it is quieter and more intimate during the week wink
A word of warning, whilst it is possible to park close to the beach it is approached don an unmade track that can be hard on the suspension.
Hope that helps
Love

Probably too far, for you, Pink Princess
but the best we know is just a few miles from here
Sandwich Bay is accessed through the town of Sandwich. It's a long strip of sand dunes, sometimes frequented by swingers towards the evenings - it is about 15 minutes hike from the car park at the gates to the Prince's Golf club.
Well worth a visit for good soft sands running out intothe relativeley warm waters of the bay.
details from us if you need them

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Entire posting was one long location and directions to it!
Read the rules - Moderator

Well I didn't read the post, but respectfully, aren't directions to a nudist beach a bit different to more sensitive directions sometimes posted here.
Yeah! come on moderator nudists beaches are legal as is the naturism that is practiced on them, a bit heavy handed me thinks
Oh YES AND THANKS TO ALL WHO REPLIED UNFORTUNATELY THE WAY THE SUMMER IS GOING OUR WHITE BITS WILL HAVE TO STAY WHITE
Fairlight Glen beach is sandy as far as I remember when I last went ! However the access was getting awkward due to slippages affecting the pathway/steps to it.
Just 'Googled' Fairlight and found that officially the former access route has been closed as unsafe by the local authority. However - people still go there via alternative routes.
As I'm not sure if we're allowed to post links I'll happily PM the link to anyone who is interested as theres a good description of the route and a June 2004 account of a visit.
Also not as crowded as Brighton but without facilites like toilets etc so you need to take your own refreshments and be prepared to disappear into the bushes when needed.

........prepared to disappear into the bushes when needed.

I remember there being some sand but I can't remember if the whole beach was sandy.... confused used to go there years ago with friends and have parties on the beach....
Yeah the steps fell down the cliff ............ also it's become a popular gay cruising spot so you might get more than you bargained for if you "disappear into the bushes" lol
And go to Studland - its beautiful down there.

Although its not as east as you would like, we love Studland Bay. Perhaps a bit more of a drive than you would prefer, but well worth it. It has the cleanest, sand beaches I have ever seen. (G's car sports the evidence!!) The first time Big G took me there, it was off season, but still a few people admiring the view off and on the shores. The nudist beach takes up a large section of the beach and off season, you have have alot of privacy. It's just a beautiful place.

Dx
we`re off to shellness in kent today if anyone wants to say hi
There have been a few posts recently about naturist beaches, so cant explain why yours was deleted.
Maybe theres another reason as to why your message was deleted, nothing to do with its content?

As a newbie on this site I am literally amazed at the Moderators…unfriendly springs to mind!
Asking for a naturist beach seems a perfectly sensible request and the location of such a beach hardly secret or likely to attract undesirables ( except for doggers and peepingtoms who are not welcome on naturist beaches ).
My perfectly reasonable post gets deleted in large red characters and seems to imply I’m some kind of moron…I am not impressed.

I'd love to comment but didn't see the original post. I wouldn't have thought giving the location of a nudist beach would be a problem but like I say, I don't know exactly what you posted.
Steve
T'weren't me either - but the inserted words from the Mod did say it had given not only location but directions too.. maybe that's why.
The Mod who did it will be around at some point when work, life and home are all sorted out, no doubt.
