Stepdaughter update :(

Well Morbius's daughter had her Bone Marrow Test last week ... this was to find out if she had gone into remission after the first bout of chemo.
It's not good news sad

Whilst her blood functions are all back to "normal" the leukaemia is still in her bone marrow and therefore it throws a different light onto things. Her current treatment isn't going to stop the problem and they are going to have to do a more intense treatment and then we will have to wait upto 6 weeks to find out if it has worked.
If she responds to this treatment then she will need to do a bone marrow transplant which will involve a high chance of blood transfusions (as you may be aware the family are Jehovah's Witnesses and without going too deep into it, they don't believe in blood transfusions).
If she doesn't respond to this next lot of treatment at all then a bone marrow or any other treatment is pointless :( :(
We're a bit shell shocked at the moment obviously ... I would like to make a plea though ... if you have ever considered becoming a bone marrow donor then now would be a really good time to think seriously about it.
We're posibly looking at some sort of fund-raising for the charity supporting us all called "Sargant" as well and anyone with any ideas then I'd be very grateful to hear from you.
We're of the thinking that the war isn't over but a new battle has begun .. please think positively for us.

I can sort of understand how hard this is for you as my nana is in the process of recovering from cancer and it was very hard to watch her going through it all and how she got so my thoughts are with you both.
As for fund-raising my aunt works with a charity so I'll ask her to think a few things up for you if you like.
Also, about the donor thing, there's not much up with my health so do you know how to go about becoming a donor? confused

I'm happy to receive any pm's regarding fundraising or whatever.
At the moment we are able to carry on as normal but it could change at the drop of a hat sad

and so we are remaining positive but in 6 weeks we might start to panic a bit.
