well look, I have sort o semi hijacked this thread now ! so I shall let it run and maybe look on opening a room this evening called forum chat, password " lizard" usual rules... No directing, no wispering , read the AUP ! warn 1, warn 2, Kick ! please be polite, cam if you wish, newbies and regulars welcome . oh and no discrimination, whatever is your thing is please respect others.

I don't go into the chatrooms that often and if I do I wander around a few rooms looking for familiar names who I know will respond, some rooms can be very cliquey and competitive which is a complete bore but that's life!
If you're new at it and a little nervous I'd advise you to just ignore the rude whispers... I do! Having not conversed with me at all they're just trying their luck!
Peenut, I would like to see a regular forum room if you want to give it a go though I can't always get online in the evenings but it's always been a laugh in the past!

Some of the rooms can be a bit 'cliquey' IMHO
so as much as you try to join in, you can get sometimes get the 'we really rather wish you weren't here feeling' from the key protagonists!
Thats why i bought it back up just to say its got a little better as some know me now. But i still sit there like a lemon at times. I dont go in as much now only at weekends where i have a couple of guys who i chat with.
It does feel like it was ages ago when i put this up and it was only two months ago.
It took me a long time to be brave enough to venture into the chat rooms. The first time I went in I got deluged with whispers so didn't bother again for a while. Then someone started the forum chat room and after going in there a bit I got a bit braver. I've got to know a few of the regulars in the south wales room and who ever is in charge is more than willing to boot whisperers on request so I can actually spend time chatting and not trying to wade through all the whispers.
It makes me wonder why guys (and I'm generalising but it does tend to be guys) do it if all they get for their trouble is to get booted out of the room?

It's odd, but you don't realise something seems cliqey if you're already in it. I think the cafe is quite a welcoming place but that's because I use it quite a lot. Every contribution counts - otherwise nothing would ever get said. Sorry, I know your post was directed at Goose, just thought I'd say don't be afraid to join in.

I don't mean anything in a bad way Mids. It realy depends who's in there there are some days like Friday or Saturday were great then others when i just can't get into it. It's a very popular room nearly allways full or close.
There are people like yourself and madchick to name a couple who have been great ie when entering the room you allways have time to say hello. Some time i go in and say hi but it moves so fast no one sees. I know thats just the speed of the chat but when youre sat at the PC thing go through your mind.
Also by no means is the only room i have trouble i just mentioned it as it's my local room.
It's more down to me being unable to cope with the speed. When theres upto 80 people chatting well rooms just fly by me.
Thats why i use the forum more its more relaxed.
I havent given up totaly just for now but whats the betting i come back for more tonight
At the end of the day it's me who has to make the effort to join in and keep up or stick with the forums but i'd like to do both.

When I first started coming here it was all in the forum. Lately, though, I've been spending more time in the chatrooms.
There certainly are a lot of cliquey people there and it can be hard to get into them, but I've had more good chats and made more meets that I ever did either in the forums or even by replying to ads. Being able to directly chat with people makes it a lot easier, especially than replying to ads most of which just ignore you.
Obviously, being a single male I don't get a huge number of whispers, so I probably don't understand how bad it can be but if you want to avoid it just look for a room that says 'no whispering'. The downside is that some of the room ops can be a little heavy-handed with the kick button. Especially where directing is concerned. Most of them seem to confuse the term 'direction' with polite requests (and before anyone asks, I've never been booted from a room for doing it). Just tonight I saw a guy get booted for asking a girl "Can we see some more, please?. By the time she'd said "If you're nice" he'd been booted for directing. No warning, no complaint from the girl just :kick:. I imagine that could put noobs off very easily.

just wanted to say hi to you all! i too find the chat rooms too fast but they seem slooower when its the early hours. Ive found people to be friendly and have helped with tips ect when ive been confused 
(which is often lol). Some of the rooms do seem a little like everyone knows each other sometimes,so i do sit and watch. Im a avid reader of the forums and almost feel like i know some of you all ready 
. I guess like everything new it takes awhile to find your all i think the site has a great community spirit :thumbup: and hope that we will become part of it.
