Struggling in chat

Hi all
Does anyone else ever struggle in the chat rooms. Sometimes i go in and just sit there like a plum trying to either think of something to say or not wanting to but in on a busy room where evryone seems to allready know each other.
I often endup in a bi room or tv room (although i'm st8) as i find it easier to chat and i often have a laugh in there and i get a few offers lol

But then i worry about pissing the bi/gay/tv's of for wasting their time.

Yep, I struggle. Especially in the bigger rooms cos I can't keep up. End up replying to what someone said, such a long winded reply that takes ages, so by the time I press submit I end up about 5 conversation subjects behind. They're wondering what the bluddy ell I'm talking about :uhoh: and I'm wondering what's happening dunno

Then I go into the smaller rooms, get paranoid cos I can't think of anything to say straight away, and end up saying something really naff, lame and wishing I had kept me mouth shut :undecided: Then keep me mouth shut, get paranoid all over again and before I know it out pops something else even more naff and lame confused

No need to worry..... all the rooms have people like you, look at how many say nothing! Also from what little we know about TV gay's etc they would love the thought of seducing a straight guy so will enjoy you being in there... If there having fun and your having fun why worry.
If you ever see us in a room say hello..... always happy to chat.

I'm not gona stop goin in. Especialy at weekend late evenings.
I think its me worrying about other peoples perception of me if i dont say anything. I often have my cam on just incase some one likes what they see and chats to me which does happen from time to time lol

Funny lol

I have to turn the brightness up under lights (to reduce the orangeness :lol: ) and lower it in day light cos i look pale :lol: . I'm ok with yous lot in the forum room or the poshshed room. Not on enought for me though

I only ever go into the forum chatroom these days. Can't cope with the muppets who can't be arsed to read my profile before whispering mad

I timed it once and had 3 whispers within a minute of entering the room :doh:

I found the south wales room quite cosey, a few wispers but some nice regulars, pop in there and try it.

An interesting topic that I am rapidly finding is causing a great delema to me personaly !
I admit that when I first joined this site my motives were somwhat mixed. My idea of the "swinging" scene that sex no strings hang ups etc was the name of the game, so to avoid the obvious, "man wants shag " I placed my ad to avoid the sterotype. In fact what I put in that ad would at best be a fetish daydream ! . Anyhow after some time in the forum I not only have found genuine people but also have felt that its about community and shared interests and comparing notes if you will !
After recent publicity about the chatroom, I have ventured in but rather than finding the same attitude here in the forum, it would seem rather full of the sort of people who would fall into the original catorgory that i had thought SH to have been !
I must say though that rooms opened by people who are regular to this forum have a comletely different feel altogether !

Try the South Wales room, yes we all know each other, at least in the room, but its generally a friendly place. We are not to concerned about yourlocation either.

Hi Steve
Why don't you drop by the Black on White room and its other reincarnations one evening? There are some nice people hanging out in there, e.g. a guy called oralgift who is always decent and people seem to like a lot. Then there is Clementine who always manages to put a smile on my face as she is a wild minx but has a heart of gold. Whoreandhub is a nice couple and whore is witty and has a lovely smile then there is Xander who has his cam and mic on but sometimes delays answering and the effects are hillarious (he plays the guitar like you). Sometimes the atmosphere in the room is sexy and sometimes is plain good fun with people teasing each other. And you won't have to say anything if you don't feel comfortable talking, just sit and follow the conversations, they are often hillarious.
London Steve's room is also good and you might try Mike's room (as I am sure I will after hearing good things about it).
As for the TV room, TVs are gentle people and very accepting of others, so I don't blame you for feeling cosier there but please PLEASE don't jump to the other side as there may be a few women in here who want your body... wink

As a complete chatroom numpty I was really please when The Sarge introduced the chatroom for beginners thing.
Unfortunately I've never been home on the times/dates arranged (except once, but blade was on TV and it was a choice betweeb Bilko or Wesley Snipes in leathers) redface

dont find too much problem when i am in a room, being a singel female makes it a lot easier, getting into chat is the problem, i can click the link for hours and it doesnt work then all of a sudden it might let me in or it might not. bloody annoying

Seems like eons ago that i posted this and it was only june.
Well just an update. I keep trying the mids room but i'm going to give in on that. Being close to chamelions it seems to be the big suject of converstion and having never been there its a sit and watch the chat place.
So i'll stick to the pool ,lounge and TV rooms as in there there are a couple of nice folks who i manage to have a chat with.

I am glad you brought this topic up Goose because I have always struggled in them for the reasons you mentioned. I suppose as time goes on chatting in them does become easier and I pressume it is perfectally fine to just sit back, reading whats going on and then if there is something you feel you could participate in, then just jump in.
Chatting one to one I am fine but in a group situation I do struggle and no I wouldn't whisper unless invited to smile

once upon a time, i could quite easily keep up with the best part of 200 people. these days, i struggle to keep up with the forum.
the problem with chat these days is that i never know which room i want to be in? i'm sure there's lots of people i know, but they're all scattered across rooms. a search for who's in where would be soooo useful! (((( maybe there is one? dunno

Yup that can be a problem thats why the forums are so good. I believe if a user is in chat you can find them on their profile and go direct to the room they are in but iv'e not seen or tried it yet

I would like to open a forum room on a regular rolling basis, newbies,regulars welcome usual rules. I can be strict ....but fair would you like that ? Name: forum chat , password : probably " lizard " ( its become sort o traditional ) or something different if folk want to keep that room name for special occasions only ?

If you are willing to do that great id be in there. The problem with forum chat as it is is that it usualy a little late for me due to work in the week.
Run a thread and get some opinion.

Here I was thinking it was just me!
Ive gone in chat and sat for hours not daring to say anything and if anyone speaks in the main room to me I freeze. I dont know why this happens but I do know I feel dead ignorant, so I just put a bit in profile and hoped that if someone was that interested to chat, they would read that first and understand a little. For gods sake Im a grown woman and I feel really stupid about this sometimes redface

Maybe one day I will suprise myself and actually apply fingers to keyboard confused

know what you mean. Thing is i am sort of stuck here with not much to do so I run almost 24/7 on this computer ! I feel like that bloke in thunderbirds y know the one in the space station all on his own, mind you I have enough processing power to do other stuff while still monitoring traffic on here and I do go out sometimes. 8 to er late monday to friday would seem to be good ? weekends maybe 9 to late ?

You go out 7 nights a week....have I read that right??? So when do you get chance to go in chatrooms? confused

or put another way...If you go out 7 nights a weeks and are stuck on here 24/7 when do you sleep, or is it all programmed into you? Maybe you ARE that bloke from Thunderbirds afterall lol
