Here here...... wink
I'm going to make an excuse for using Aunt Bessies.
I cook for 8 quite often on a Sunday and with the large joint of beef, roast potatoes and parsnips I don't have the space to fit real yorkies in the oven. I take out the beef and while it settles and gets carved, I sling the frozen ones in rolleyes

I wish i could have any sort of gravy
Not had it for 2 years now because it gives me gout (dont laf )
I used to laf at my dad when he used to get gout but i dont any more
mind you he still gets gout & i dont since i dropped gravy from my diet
We do the yorkshire puds from scratch
The trick is 2 extra egg whites (Gary Rhodes tip)

Actually I just made a sunday dinner today and it was gorgeous.....haven't made one for a while. Don't tend to in the summer months, only do them when the cold weather comes in. We certainly enjoyed it though.....
Didnt invite me to join ya did ya Amber? you cant beat a good sunday roast!
And a good sunday meal too ......lmao
I didn't have a full roast ( veggie) but did have an Aunt Bessies' stuffed with 'taters and veg mmmmmmm

MMmm we had proper freshly made ones
We pretty much have a Sunday roast every Sunday  And we always sit down every evening as a family to eat, which is another thing that seems to be dissappearing!

We don't do it as often as we should!
Same goes for Sunday dinners! wink
But - for yorshire pud - has to be home made - a big one in a oblong tin that you slice up (has to be at least 2-3 inches deep). Crispy on top and soft inside to soak up the gravy. Aunt bessie are OK as a standby - by they do lack a bit of substance compared to the real thing.
Talk about coincidences!
I was just about to update my blog with yesterday’s antics and saw this.
I had a fab day yesterday – the type that Sunday’s were made for.
Stuck the roast beef on, roast potatoes, etc etc – then down the pub for a few jars.
Got back, finished off the home made yorkshire’s, popped the veg on and served up for 8 friends. (popped the home made bit in for Dawnie)
Cleared the plates away and supped wine with excellent conversation thrown in.
Ahh heaven – you just can’t beat a traditional British Sunday.
Pub followed by Sunday Roast
