As I have continued to read the colourful and varied postings here I have come to realise there is an immense amount of mature and balanced thought wielded skilfully by the individuals here.
Soooooooo it also crossed my mind that as objective as I am and a scientifically balanced individual to boot ...why do I still harbour superstitions...
Such as I spent the first 28 years of my life missing out the 13th current house has 12 steps...methinks I am not the only one to have thought of this.
I still battle wilfully with myself before avoiding walking under ladders......I usually rationalise it from a safety aspect it must be better not to.
I find myself pepetuating silly little routines sometimes, just because things worked out well when I did it that way last time ...is it me or do we all have these silly foibles?
I think it's just you wink
I can't think of anything that I do cos of superstition. I walk under ladders and nothing has ever fallen on my head. I spill salt and have broken a mirror or two, and I don't think I've been unlucky for it. I can't even think of any more superstitions, so shows how much I know about the subject. Bloody hell, I'm a borg! :borg:

Why do you need them practising. Don't you want one to do it properly?

Magpies - and I always feel an idiot for doing it.
Yeah, I don't need to practice, I'm a real one.

Gets off couch ...pulls oneself together ...well thanks for the empathy....lol
Besides as I have grown older it has become less and less of an issue ...I guess I am over it now...touch wood!..... wink
Of course its worth considering that one mans supersticious routines are another mans obsessive compulsive disorder :-)
G
OMG I never even considered that angle G......I am beginning to feel an emotional and cerebral mess...
Makes note in carefully selected jenction blue notebook...on the 5th line...after licking tip of pencil 27.5 times.....must never allow oneself to become obsessive compulsive....underlines the note 3 times with perfectly parallel lines... a skill aquired form years of practice.
