Why?
Well because there is too much of an expectation to the first because it is not on neutral territiory. Some things never work out as planned and if planned they always feel a little staged and rigid. If you go out see a show and enjoy the evening then you have had a great evening..
Anything else is just a bonus..... but at least without that you will still have had a great night.
Only a personal thought..

For those of us of a rural inclination, here on the Welsh Borders, option 3 holds the most possibilites. This would normally take the form of a long hike in the hills. It is beautiful and romantic: the ghosts of Owain Glyndwr and Wild Edric hanging in the mist. What lady's heart would not be stirred by the wind howling, un-tamed across the ancient Marches, where blood ran for centuries as the borders claimed lives across generations of hard, proud people. Will she not thrill to the magnificence of Pystyll Rhaeadr Waterfall, gaze in wonderment from the Devil's Chair, high on the Stiperstones, or yield to the green valleys immortallised by Mary Webb and Houseman?
AND If nothing else comes off then at least you've spent nothing, worked up a good appetite for the pub and checked your sheep at the same time.
Practical bunch around here.

You can laugh yourselves stupid at each other (unless one of you just happens to be an ex member of Nigel Lythgo's 'Young Generation' - lol ) and humour is so much of an aphrodisiac plus having made such 'asses' of yourselves (well I would!) you can't help but appreciate each other finer ass's!

I chose option 3 as I like to think that if a guy is prepared to come over to me for a chat, with a bottle of wine and what ever comes next.
Rather than the first meeting were one or both are expecting to do it all.
But then I am a romantic at heart and always looking for a knight in shining armour.

Third Option: be somewhere where if one or both of you change your minds you can either get home or somewhere safe, especially if you don't live in the same area. Having to be stuck in a hotel in a mutually agreed place where neither of you hail from could turn into an nightmare if things don't work out.
In the highlands of bonnie scotland, their are places that are called castles, that are bibbish hotel places. I know some of them have exquisite meals and the likes. often in nice gardened/landscaped scenery. Aberdeen is a great escape too, and think of it as a good day out, to chat and talk. The hardest part has been done really finding the date and stopping together. Make it special for her, and she will make it special for you...and maybe again the next time...?

I cannot recall what I went for pre your ammendment... but if you know eackh other I would seriously go for the first option, esp if you do the cooking,,,, lengthy meals are such wonderful foreplay and can be oh so suggestive.... not least if she knows she is being seduced....
I am one of those few guys that cook to seduce... and assume you are too... so go for it mate, plan the menu well an she is all yours no questions ( finish with chocolate), hopefully she has no dietry probs... so world is your oyster.... now there is a starter... oysters bareback ....raw slips down throat beauifully.... then some meat either Steak or Duck breast.. either way somewhat rare....!....
if you care to sample the cheese realise that you will be awake a while, but no doubt that is what you hope for
!!!!
If you go for Coffee... look for a single estate organic shade grown bean and grind yourself.... very PC and very tasty....
as for apperatifs... my pref is a speyside or highland or orkney malt...

We chose something else.
Try and do a spur of the moment kind of thing, go bowling, jump on Eurostar and have a quick day in Paris and have a night in a cheap motel with loads of wine and passion. Take the moment as it is presented to you.
