you say its on stuff you burned into the libary ?
does it do it when you play a cd and did it do it on stuff already in the libary ?

Sorry- PC got gazumped rolleyes
I think it's on CD's too- although as it's intermittent it might be a while for me to confirm this. Definately a problem on stuff in the library, irrespective of if it's been burned recently or ages ago.
Really scratching my head on this one!
did you burn it straight from cd to libary or did you copy it to hard drive first?

I think it went straight to library (pretends she already knows there was an option)
Although most of it's been fine for ages & has only recently started to play up. It has coincided with the PC s l o w i n g d o w n too.
Do you think it just doesn't like my taste in music?

It was completely wiped & refragged 2/3 months ago by my (slightly cleverer) neighbour after it was trashed by a virus.
Only downside was, as we wanted to save all the pics etc & he was in the room with me, I had to delete the "interesting" folder. Not that thats very relevant at all, really.

did he do a complete wipe of hard drive and start again? cause it sounds like you might still have a virus if not they are devious buggers and you really have to know what you doing to get rid of them.
Everything was wiped clean & started again completely from scratch. It was all fine for ages. Even now it takes a while of listening to WM tracks to play up. And it's just stopped playing DVD's too- dunno if they might be connected.
Just had a thought-I think theres another media player on here somewhere, I'll see if things are different on there in the morning- if theres no joy, try a system restore. Whaddyareckon?
Whilst im here, I would like to point out that I am not, in fact completely useless :rascal:
i tend to use winamp as my player, you could use restore but somethings not right if doing what you say. either you have a hardware problem (dvd player)or a virus
you do have a firewall and an up todate virus protection and dont open executable files unless you know for definate they dont contain a virus ?

I always avoid people who cough & sneeze without covering their mouth & nose.
Sorry, rapidly lapsing into silly mode. Erm, I think it's AVG dunno Will have a look properly when I can see in the morning & get back to it then.
Thank you soooo much for your expertise & patience.
