If you could bring back any old telly programmes, what would they be? And would you remake them with a modern cast or just show the originals?
I used to love Fame - would watch that series again - but couldn't bear the thought of a remake... it'd have to be the 80s cast.
Likewise the A-Team... although that might possibly be okay remade.

The Goodies, featuring the guys from Top Gear.
Just watched the Martin Clunes version of Reggie Perrin. In itself it might have been worth watching, but their attempts at touching on the original just spoiled it for me.
However, the remake of the Battlestar Galactica series was awesome. It was just close enough to the original (now very camp) version to let it bear the same name, but so different that it's become a modern classic in its own right (IMHO).
So what to bring back?
How about The Sweeney? Now that would be a great platform for Philip Glenister.

:bounce: I went to see the original Fame at the NEC and it was just amazing. I loved Bruno and wanted to be one of the dancers. I want it back now!!!!

 although it would be pretty much the same character he plays in Life On Mars/Ashes To Ashes

Jealous!
Leroy was my first love :inlove: and I had a Fame duvet cover... my two older sisters who shared the bedroom with me were mortified! :giggle:
I am bringing back the orginal "superstars"....... proper sportmen against each other...
Also bringing back "it's a knockout"........
they were ruined when they came back before.....
I use to like 'its a knockout' as well.
Trumpton.

The Dukes of Hazard - the original, not the movie remake.
Although I didn't have a clue at that age what 3sums were, I think somehow Bo & Luke got into my subconcious and still make it into my fantasies these days.
Oh - and me and my sis used to put shorts on over tights with our sandals and run about the garden pretending to be Daisy Duke!!!!

I think you should re-stage that scene now and then post the photos!
Just Good Friends.
The cad Vince and Penny who thinks she can change him, from his womanising ways.
A brilliant series but like a lot of these old shows, would be difficult to bring them back, as the stars would look so much older, and less believable.
I think we could do a rather good SH version of Fawlty Towers. We could call it Flowery Tw*ts in honour of the signpost at the start of one of the shows in the second series.
The cast would be a doddle...
Basil Fawlty - Obviously Mr Kenty. He's perfect for the role.
Sybil - We need someone sarcastic, genuinely scary with a touch of malevolence. Splendid.
Polly - Always being generally sensible, sane and organised with an artistic bent - Cherrytree
Manuel - Somebody small who speaks in a funny accent. Woo Hoo I think would be ideally suited.
Major - Lovely chap but often says the maddest things seemingly at random. Who else but R.O/L.P
Mrs Gatsby and Mrs Tibbs - Two generally loopy old dears who haven't got the foggiest... Yeah like I am going to name two people for this... Give me some credit! I'd happily play one in drag though. Kind of like Terry Jones as Brians Mum in the Life of Brian.
Terry the Chef - Bit of a charmer, ladies man, cockney. Has to be Essex34m...
I think it'd be a winner...
 what what?

LMAO!
But could you think of the Fawlty-esque rants you could have because of it?! It would be classic TV...

Ok... I admit! I was struggling! But you are from Essex, which is near enough!
I still reckon you'd do a fine job as Terry though... We could chain you up in the kitchen... ;-)

It was the charmer and ladies man that I struggled with!
I'm liking the idea of being chained though
