The 70% Club

Bearing in mind the auspicious time of year (Easter is coming!!!!!!) I thought I'd open the debate on that food of the Gods, that divine substance - CHOCOLATE. worship

Do you have a favourite strength? Is there a 'perfect' chocolate product? Have you ever made your own?
And for those who don't like it or can't have it - what is the ideal alternative?
I have tried a few types - and had the chance to decide that 38% is the perfect strength, having a balance of richness and that slight bitterness that also makes coffee delicious.
I love those Easter eggs of my youth that were moulded in hand-held moulds and therefore had the possibility of an extra thick chunk somewhere inside where the chocolate had settled biggrin

Hardly happens now cos of machine manufacture.
As for the thread title - there is a club who meet to taste and test chocolate and will not eat any less than 70% strength (personally I hate it).
Fixed the title eventually.

Well for those in here who like chocolate as much as my dear wife...
I hope you all have a wonderful easter and you get all the chocolate that your hearts desire..
Well as for me the philistine that i am,i dont like chocolate that much..
Well my fave day of the year is St Patricks Day...
I'll take a few pints of the black stuff over chocolate any day of the week... biggrin

when i got to france i buy huge bars of 75% cocoa cooking chocalte. I refrigerate it and let it melt in my mouth or my lovers body parts. Best there is I think.

I waver between the scum of the species - white chocolate - and 90% dark chocolate. Both fulfill a taste need in me!
White chocolate for taste and 90% dark chocolate for taste and sensuality.

My other half loves 85% chocolate. I think that it is disgusting, takes the skin off the roof of my mouth!

I don't bother with strengths of choccie, I just shovel owt in! lol

If I had a choice between chocolate, it would be cadbury's over galaxy but I'm partial to a bit of that Green n Black's mmmmmm :lickface:

You all MADE me go to my secret chocolate drawer in the kitchen (next to the not-secret cutlery drawer) and relieve a bar of Green & Blacks Organic 90% of 2 squares which are now melting ever so slowly but ever so more wonderfully in my hot wet mouth - nothing crumbly but definitely something sexy about it.
Chocolate = sex!

When I was vegan, I missed chocolate, even though I was never a great fan before hand.
As a treat I would have a bar of Lyndt 70%, or whatever, very much a treat also as I was broke at the time.
now then, not knowing we were to have a chocolate thread ... when I was on the way home from work, I got myself a bar of Lyndt Orange stuff... never tried it before... and now, having read this thread and coincidentaly having a bar, Im very much looking forward to it in bed...soon... the chocolate!
and then there's Jags doing that old: equating-chocolate-with-sex kinda thing... I also have a small box of malteasers... another fave... (I'm a much bigger fan od chockie these days) so I'm going to slowly enjoy the new sensations and flavours of the Lyndt... whilst having opened the 'teasers box to tape it to/across my gentalia... sweet-dreams

Ah Maltesers - sex in a ball!! So more'ish that they are hard to resist, just like a man. Sweet, hard and chewable... sticks to the teeth and needs a good licking! Sucking the coating off makes the inside crumble and melt until the taste spreads across the tongue and lightens the soul!

I'm more of a savory person ............ that was until I discovered Hotel Chocolat :inlove:
It's utterly divine, mouthfuls of pure luxury cool

I tried to get a fave choc from there, but I just can't decide between .......... well between all of em really :undecided:
At the mo, I'm having a phase of their 72%, but that's about as narrow as I can get the choice down confused
