I'm very new here so I'm certain to get slated for my inexperience and lack of knowledge, that aside I think love commandos reaction is a little extreme. The entrance to the cafe says this is the place for general chit chat about ANYTHING not covered in the other two sections.

Well I do have an interest in this because it typifies the inane drivel some posters seem to think they can post here. I know from many conversation both by PM and in person that many regulars think that too many people start posts of poor quality here, either in terms of provoking thought or of a humorous bent and are losing interest in posting or visiting the cafe. There are still some great posters here but, tonight I thought Funk's just took the biscuit in terms of whinging! Not that we haven't seen it before, but please! Arsenal not winning, haven't had a shag since last Wednesday! FFS! Myself and others on this site have far worse to deal with!

I am becoming increasingly interested in the interest shown in uninteresting posts. The general interest in these posts of low interest also seems to be on the up. This upsurge in interest may lead to the generation of posts with a lower interest rating, which is in itself interesting.

Steady on! We all have different levels of social skills, and I've certainly got no objection to helping along a younger SH member whose social skills are not so great (yet), but who is genuine, entertaining, obviously enjoys being here and gets something out of it.
However, one thing I find a little irritating is people here referring to themselves in the third person, it can come across as a little arrogant, but well, what the hell.

My opinion for what it's worth, is post what you like, but also ignore the "crap inane" posts you don't like.
If the problem is that "crap inane" threads are taking uo to much bandwidth then thats for the Mods to sort out.
I find it a tad arrogant that you think your opinion counts more than someone elses, just because you've posted here longer.

I'm sorry Kent-man, you've confused me here, I take the following from your post , perhaps you could let me know if I'm on the right track. If the general interest in posts of low interest is increasing, then interest in interesting posts we can assume is increasing at a greater rate. Therefore, these uniteresting posts are creating greater interest in all posts , and as such would surely increase the number of interesting and uninteresting posts, thereby the cumulative effect being a more interesting forum. :shock:
