Always have a bet but then I have 1 or 2 a month on the horses anyway but for the National form, more than anywhere else, often means little so my tip is what I do. 1 of the top 3 'favourites', 1 from the middle pack and 1 50-1 etc complete outsider.

I have to say, the only thing I ever bet on is the National. I also allow my kids to pick a horse each and I put a small bet on for each of us. Obviously they just go by the name, but funnily enough my middle daughter has picked the winner 4 years on the trot now :)
