Are the plants getting scourched by the sun? That would turn them yellow. When you water them in the morning make sure you do not get water on the plants themselves as this will increase the scourching. Try watering them in the evening when the sun starts to go down.

Oh ta .. I do tend to slosh it about a bit
DD
you could also try something called "broadleaf p4" its a gelling agent mix it in with compost when you water it absorbs the water & it wont evaporate the plants have to suck the water out which means you dont need to water so often in summer smile
Don't they get tired of sucking all the time?

I'd be tempted to dig them out...one by one if needs be...hard work but effective.
I have to say though....I quite like buttercups..!
Marcus...... cool

You haven't seen how many buttercups  I was digging them out one by one but due to a back injury i couldn't do any gardening last summer and they took over, and I have to confess to not spending as much time in the garden this year as I should of due to spending most Sundays in here. HELP the weeds are taking over!!
Mmmm sounds like a job for a rotavator...!
Hire one for the day....not too expensive..!

Newby`s first post on a swingers site and it`s about gardening and buttercups!
Before you go charging about with a rotovater,I would treat the buttercups with a "glysophate" weedkiller. Get "ROUNDUP" concentrate (not the trigger packs as this is mixed as the weakest solution). Mix the cocentrate 9 parts of water to 1 part of Roundup and apply to each plant with a paint brush. Be careful, take all the useual precautions (gloves) and destroy any containers and brushes you use when you have finished.
When the plants show signs of wilting, they can then be dug in by hand or machine. If you try to bury them when green with a rotovater they will sprout again mad :fuckinghell:
This comes from soeone who SUFFERS gardening!!
My spider plant had decided to give me a baby. Should I be worried about this or is it normal behaviour? :undecided: :undecided: :undecided:

LOL......me too.
However, mentioning slosh or sloshed to be more specific.....I'm also thinking of having a go at making my own wine...to be consumed in my potting shed of course...I might even end up with SwingingHeaven 69..! Tips on wine making would really help..!!
Don't make wine from root vegetables if you want other people to drink it.
Pretty much any fruit (including cartons of fruit juice) can be used to brew wine. Over-ripe bananas are great for bumping up the sugar (and thus the alcohol) content - especially if mixed with something that's got a lot of acid to balance it out (crab apple and banana wine anyone?) If you use honey instead of sugar then you'll end up with mead instead of wine, which can be quite interesting (blackberry mead is very good, and I've made some Elderberry that was quite pleasant). It's too late in the season now, but in the autumn I used to find that canal towpaths were an excellent source of Elderberries and Blackberries, with the bonus that they're much less contaminated by traffic fumes than ones growing by the side of the road.

You can't go wrong with pampass grass wink lol
But for a really nice garden, and a good talking point, try making one of these

Have built two myself with me Dad, and they're both easy and extremely comfortable. There are plans about but try this to start with

Oh, and it always helps to have a water feature and decking :giggle:

Yep I agree!
If I was kneeling on it I'd need a cushion under my knees. Wood burns and algae on the back are bad enough. I don't want them on my knees too!
Um............sorry. I know this is a serious thread. redface surprisedops:
It's cosy really. A bit like listening to Gardeners' Question Time which I loved even though I'm not a gardener, just one of those who likes enjoying them. I like creating them though: doing the groundwork (well I used to. Not anymore though as I don't have a garden. I did have a few acres once though, although it wasn't all garden).
Ok, I'm gone bolt

I love Gardeners Question Time.....I tend to use the 'Listen Again' function on the Radio 4 website to catch up on what's been happening.
