The sound of silence

Hi,
I'm a bit new to this 'scene', however in the short time I've been 'involved', I've come across something which strikes me as being rather strange!
People advertise, I reply, but the sound of silence is almost deafening. At the same time, I regularly read of people fed up with timewasters, and being let down at the last minute by people who had arranged to meet them.
So I'm left with a couple of conclusions:
1. Many of the people who advertise are in fact timewasters themselves, getting some perverted pleasure from reading the replies to their adverts. Sad people indeed!!
2. Genuine people who advertise are obviously very bad at selecting the genuine replies from amongst the replies from the timewasters and general plonkers.
So whats the solution?
Well I suspect there isn't a lot that can be done about those in "1" Idiots will be idiots.
With regard to "2", genuine people really need to get their acts together, and be more discerning when they're reading the replies to their ads. On the one hand, they're opting for plonkers who they should be ignoring, while ignoring genuine people like myself.
And before some smart Alex pipes up, let me say that I have met a lady via Swinging Heaven, several times in a relatively short period of time. While so many people are setting stupid rules about "pics with replies" etc etc, this lady and I have met and have had mutually enjoyable fun, which I understood was the prime function of this site.
In my humble opinion, it's high time people wised up and stopped messing about.

It's too late and I can't be arsed to read it all but if it's inpired my better half and normally all round welcoming and nice person to even consider a post along these lines it must be bad confused
