I had no grievance with the forum I was merely asking why it happens on some occasions & others does not ?? Whatever happend to freedom of speech? Can someone not question something without SH thinking you are attacking them? We cannot all be like little lambs following each other & bleating the same tune...How dull would that make us. You are a very close knit community on here & I admire that but at the same time PM's cannot be sent every time someone says something slightly controversial & yet when a slightly more "IN" member posts a view about how SH is changing or they are leaving due to it changing etc etc everyone rallies round.
Anyway as I replied to the above PM I am outta here. Thanks to the few who have kept in touch, I kinda knew who would anyway. xxxx

This is why I left...
This seems like a record week for nice people leaving. I guess this isn't a prison camp and we can't actually force people to stay (Mods, can you change that please? Thanks.), but still, it does make me sad to see all these fine folks going. :cry:

There are those that leave after 1 posting - there are those that leave after a thousand postings. Some think they were pushed out - some left because they were bored - some left because they got upset - some left because the priorities in their life changed - some left to move into other forums - some left because they did not fit in.
Some of those people became friends - others I didn't know and others I couldn't care less about. But one man's meat is another man's poison - other people will have felt differently about them.
All in all the forum grows in it's membership and the posting tally goes up every day - so I say why have a wake everytime someone leaves? Accept that they leave of thier own free will (unless ejected by a mod for breaching the AUP!) and we should all gather to wave them off!
I don't think we ever really communicated moist - but hey!

Mark just happens to be one of the nicest most unassuming guys I have ever met! (Thanks Mark - I'll collect the tenner later. And of course I am bound to say that because he is Da Boss and he will fire my ass if I don't!)
However when I see stuff like this I really do wonder why he has the patience to do all this for free and get abused into the bargain!

I have yet to meet Mark, but I will echo the sentiments about him being one of the nicest guys.... People are just unaware how much time and effort goes into running this site, and Mark gives up an awful lot of his spare time to ensure that this remains a free site and IMHO THEbest site on the net.....
Obviously the regulars on here know all this but my comments are directed to all the "self important here today gone tomorrow" type people (thats if they stay around long enough to read this)
The idea of an open forum is todiscusssubjects and respect others opinions even though they may not your own..... Personally I was disgusted at the fact that moist had posted a PM on an open forum as its aprivatemessage, but to only post half of it indicates that she obviously wanted sympathy and "dont go" messages.....
I am not a regular poster to the forum as my spare time is taken up helping to moderate the chat room, but I do read it and I for one will not be sorry to see moist go...... Once you read the full PM you realise that Mark was actually taking time out to see if there was anything he could help with....... Only to have it thrown back in his face....

I don't usually comment much in threads like this. Things have usually gone too far down the road to make a lot of difference to the person posting and if any difference was going to be made it would probably be by pm.
This one is a little different though and I can't really let it pass. I couldn't agree more with Fred's sentiment:

We were pretty unanimous in our condemnation of the selective quoting, twisting of the truth and the sensationalism that was the trademark of these so called journalists. This is in the same vein and I can't let it pass without comment.
