Now I don't know about you guys, but I'm really fed up of adverts in the photo ads section for people who are either liars, timewasters or total fruitcakes. I don't see why people have ads with totally different pics, or totally fifferent stories about themselves?
We could really do with a name and shame section for people who'se ads are just to timewaste - or I wondered whether there could be some sort of ranking system to catch out the timewasters?

That could just lead to slanging matches and false "bad feedbacks".
Better to keep a sense of proportion and reality when looking at the ads...or better, use clubs...no timewasters there once you are through the door.

We have debated this many times and have come to the conclusion that Naming and Shaming is not the way forward.
If you feel someone is a timewaster email us and we can log your comments against their ad. If the same names keep being reported by different people then we would then have sufficient "evidence" to consider banning them.

Leave it up to the Mods - they know what they are doing.
I had a PM from someone a while back about responding to his "ad" and I had never heard of him.
Turns out he was referring to his post in Let's Meet Up about a meet or party - one of those ones that goes off at a tangent - you know the kind - and considered everyone in there a "reply" to his "ad"
He did a subsequent post saying he was planning to "name and shame all the timewasters" and was told publicly by a Mod that if he did he would be deleted from the forum.
Now, this guy's view of a "timewaster" would have been someone who "responded to his ad" and didn't intend attending his party.
Would I have been on his name and shame list posted to the forum?
So if you think someone is messing you round, tell the Mods and they can see if it becomes a pattern and take action.
Don't start naming other SH members because their position on responding to your offers doesn't fit your criteria.
And as Silke and Big G say "move on with your life"

It's very tempting to expose the dickheads publicly, but apart from being, in my opinion, potentially bad for the atmos, it would be open to abuse... people dissing people they don't like just for the hell of it, and the mods would then be open to accusations of favouritism. I think the current strategy is the best option.

Ok, we're going round in circles with this topic ,yet again. The bottom line is if the ad looks dodgy or you have evidence which makes you suspect a timewaster, let us know, we will deal with it. Naming and shaming will NEVER happen.
