Males Posting ads?
Good idea or not ladies and gentlemen. This might be an emotive one but then I am not one to shy away from such things. I am just trying to get a feel for whether males should post ads really or is there a secret way to post an ad where you get lots of responses?
I haven't found the ads system to be that successful, I prefer here or in the chat room where people can get to know you as an individual and suss you out better. I use the ads just for showing people what I look like if they want to know but do not post naked shots as I feel once you've seen one genital pic you have seen them all, well at least for the male populace anyway
Probably me being my usual hormonal self but ladies lets face it, you are far more aesthetically pleasing to look at than us blokes, so please keep posting those, if nothing else it gives us mere singletons something to chase after hehehe.

Have heard there maybe a secret ad site on sh that can only be accessed by members of six months or more that contains the truely genuine ads and referances weather a senior member or mod will confirm this . Still fairly new here myself i have had more luck with my own posting than i have replying to others

Well, you've had more luck than me then! I've never had any luck from my ad (after more than a whole year, or from my LMU posting.

I'm not sure I am abolutely certaint about this :? , and correct me if I am wrong 
, but I believe that the advert at the top of the list is the person considered by the Confirmed Response Advisory Panel to be the most genuine, attractive, worthwhile advertiser on the site. 
The system operates within the competency based structure of the British Advert Response Recording and Evaluation Levels which grade the advert and sort them with the highest grade at the top, and the lowest at the bottom. Hence the familiar expression which actually evolved from the common use of these standards.

Totally agree with Chardonnay. I don't look through the photo ads other than as a reference point to get an idea of who I am talking to.... progress is much more likely if I am talking to someone and know what they look like

Personally - I put my ad up ages ago, and have left it at that - Totally forgotten about, and possibly sadly neglected. I guess, as others have mentioned, that it's mainly there as a reference point for those in the chat room and forums. I don't recall ever having had any response to it, nor do I expect any.I'm in this for the social aspect, and making new friends - possibly having a laugh and a chat - if anything else comes from that, well thats just a pleasant bonus. If i don't expect to get replies - then i am NEVER dis-appointed. Easy come - easy go if you ask me, it takes away the need to be pushy, or a pic collector like a fair percentage of my fellow single males seem to be.
So to paraphrase - yes - it's worth putting a profile up for reference purposes - just don't expect too much from it.

well,
once upon a time, i put an ad up. t'was rather a rubbish ad, with a rather rubbish mobile phone type piccie, but in the whole SH spirit of things, i felt it showed willing, on the whole is he gen or wot kinda thing!: the response to it was enormous. i was from then on known as big nose and i finally felt accepted. 
it was a good day. no vague offers of sex or owt like that, but i had a nickname! :D
after a while, i took it off, cos as i said, it was crap!
but i put another up. more like a profile than an ad. it had a face type piccie on it! ;) it was as near as i came to offering a perve type opportunity to anyone who cared for one. alas, it wasn't very pervy, so not much point after all. i was fortunate to receive one pm from a mod :D and one pm from someone saying it wasn't a great likeness, but did i fancy a shag anyways? :D luckily, they'd seen me in the flesh, so weren't swayed by an appaling pic i knew nowt about as the flash went off!

Not that I ever saw either of your ads at all I have an advert in the photo ads, it works for us on several different levels.
It was a big dilema about what kind of picture to put on it. Do I do the american porn style pic where you can see what I had for breakfast? or a more arty subtle creative one bording on erotic art? :dunno:
I used to update the ad and change the photos regualarly but now I don't see the point.
