To be honset with you all,i dont really care if Tony Blair has become a Roman Catholic.
Fair play to him for doing it,in the long run it doesnt have any affect on my life.
and when he was in charge of the country he did have an effect and it wasnt a good one.
so hopefully he will do his own thing and not in the public eye so much.

The idea of Tony Blair becoming a Catholic doesn't bother me much to be honest flower. What does bother me is more that we dont have good opposition politics anymore period.
Blair managed to slime his way through politics from radical left winger to bland no opinion right of center 'll go from newbie catholic to god in a short time i guess.

So why have a go at Catholicism?? When i go to Chams I see countless people not using condoms...are they all Catholic then?
This just smacks to me of some small-minded bigotted prejudice you have and you've realised how it sounds and are now throwing in the contraception issue to cover your back. The condom thing - valid point. It is one area where I disagree with my religion but that's a personal issue isn't it.
But use of condoms has nothing to do with Blair having run this country. At what point did Blair introduce a bill to ban them?? Never.
And lets face it- the Church isn't saying have NSA sex without condoms it's saying only have sex in a stable marital relationship. Another area where I disagree but hey there you go.
So how about you stop with the narrow minded, insulting posts about something you clearly don't understand. Nice to see the sectarian attitudes faced by my grandparents are still alive and well in a small minority of bigots.

Catholics have been around for quite a while now so I fail to see what difference and ex PM will make if he becomes one

I've really been trying to avoid this thread as it has offended me. But when I read this, I had to post and say well done Tiger_Lily - well said! As a Catholic myself, there have been things said in this thread that have been truly offensive. Who cares what religion Tony Blair is, everyone should be free to practice their own religion or not as they so wish and we should accept their right to do so. And yes, there are things about Catholicism that I don't agree with. There are things about many organised religions I don't agree with. But I certainly wouldn't go about gratuitously insulting them.
