Dear Swingers
I am looking for genuine and loving couples to take part in a sensitive but fun documentary about swinging.
Can anyone advise me as to the best way of getting in touch with couples who might be interested?
You can email me at with any comments or questions.
Only genuine replies please.
Happy swinging!
Rachel

Is this going to be a bashing on swingers or a genuine unbiased commentary on a genuine lifestyle choice.
Are you a swinger yourself or just interested in us for exploitation?
I think you should let us know don't you.
Sandie
Hi all
To check Rachel's genre of work check:-

Thanks
Sandie
Well at least it's not all bad - I loved "Strange Pets" that was shown earlier this year - that meerkat was gorgeous, and the owners who were Goths came across very well.
Mandy
Sandie
I wonder if you have seen any of the films on the website? I would be more than happy to send you vhs copies in the post so that you can make a considered judgement.
And no I'm not a swinger myself but would hope to make a documentary in which in the contributors speak for themselves. Have you been on the receiving end of some bad press? If so I'm sorry.
And glad you liked the goths Mandy. Merlin the meerkat was quite a little terror though; he had us all exactly where he wanted us.

Only genuine replies please.
OK - Only the most used phrase on this site, rolleyes anyone able to tell us how many times these words appear in that order on the site??
Rachel, is that your cleavage on the web site?
Have you been on the receiving end of some bad press? If so I'm sorry.
We have all been on the receiving end of bad press Rachel, in a very generalised and ill informed way. Makes us very defensive.
Can anyone advise me as to the best way of getting in touch with couples who might be interested?

Depends on the timescale. Why not hang around in the cafe a bit, chat and let people get to know you. I daresay you had a bimble round the site before you registered, so pull up a chair and tell us what you think of the legalised brothel programme on BBC2. We may even let you in the GFZ at the weekend as a special guest!
You could try offering lots of money - but the site has a strict rule about people trying to sell things and your posting would be yanked out quicker than El Dorado. So probably best not to.
:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: ooo - we need a name for Rachels documentary :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: Any suggestions???

Rachel, just barge into GFZ - don't wait to be invited!!!
lol
Hi Rachel,
As usual the thread of your original message has been lost after a few posts. However, if we can bring it back to your original query.
I think you will find that getting 'genuine swingers' to appear in a documentary is going to be a real problem for you.
During the last few weeks there has been a lot of very ill informed and adverse Press, Radio and TV publicity connected to Swinging and Dogging. All of these that I have read, seen or heard have all been reported along the usual 'SHOCK-HORROR' line. Even many provincial newspapers and local radio stations have picked up on the subject.
Many local Councellors have expressed outrage, (Ho Hum) that such things go on, and pressure has been put onto the police to take action, especially against Doggers, wherever they can.
Swinging is a mutually consensual act, with couples being open and above board with each other as to their sexual lifestyle. Because their open sexual lifestyle is frowned upon by many others, they tend not to publicise it. I therefore think that you are unlikely to get 'Genuine Swingers' to come out in public and admit to their lifestyle. You may get a few who 'claim' to be swingers, but these are more likely to be 'Exhibitionists', than Genuine Swingers. Would you be able to separate them?
It's a strange world. Religious and Minority social groups are supposed to be able to express themselves freely and without aggravation from others. Gay men and Lesbian women's rights are even actively supported by Government and local Councils, (a good thing), yet Swingers (a fairly large minority group) are denigrated to being simply deviants, to be harrassed by the media at every opportunity.
Over two decades I have met numerous couples who 'Swing', and perhaps I have just been fortunate, but I have never met anyone who was not a pleasant, well mannered, and easy to get along with person.
If you do manage to complete your documentary, I would like to think it could reflect an honest, rather than biased appraisal of the Swinging Lifestyle, without the inclusion of unproven allegations made by those who frown on this form of sexual liberation for whatever reason. Somehow I dont think a 'Fun but Sensitive' documentary should be your aim. Perhaps an 'Open and Honest appraisal of Swinging'.

HAMMOCKS
SEEMS THE POSSIBLE NAME FOR THE PROGRAM? I just think it is apt because of the way they work? They swing?
I think you could write a best seller on the adverts some people posts and what they want?
Hammocks!!!! - hee hee lol
Rachel - if people agree to be filmed, what happens to it? Maybe someone's said that already, but that's the first thing I would ask if someone was filming me for any occassion
Hmmmmmm. I am afraid that I would sound a very LOUD note of caution too. In my experience (and I do have a bit) the purpose of a documentary is never (and I do mean NEVER) to be totally impartial and informative. For a start, programme makers have their own views and the programme will always reflect that. Above all, making TV programmes is only about one thing - viewing figures. Nothing else matters.
Making a programme salacious or shocking is a sure way of increasing the viewing figures and the trailers will play heavily on that. Even if genuine swingers are interviewed their comments are unlikely to be broadcast entirely uncut. You also need to consider context. With what will such comments be juxtaposed? Once filmed you will have no control over how the footage is used (and will have to sign a disclaimer to that effect).
For example during an interview a swinging couple may say that all they ask for is the right to live their lifestyle as they please, in private. Seems harmless enough.
The finished programme might show a 'child protection specialist' expressing concern about swinging couples meeting in family homes and the potential danger this could pose to children. Cut to the swinging couple claiming the right to practise their lifestyle as they choose. The implication (thinly veiled sub-text) is that 'we are simply out to enjoy ourselves and don't care about the effects on our family.'
No-one has been directly mis-quoted but the effect would be an apalling distortion of the genuine attitude of swingers. No-one I have corresponded with from this site would EVER put their families at ANY kind of risk whatsoever. I have not made any meetings but I have swapped messages with people who are (without exception) intelligent, sensitive and polite and are very loving to each other and their families and simply want to share their lifestyle with other likeminded adults.
Sorry to be a doom and gloom merchant confused Swinging is done in private and is probably best left that way.
PHEW. Sorry to have gone on for so long - but you see my point.
Great responses, well argued and set out... says it all!
smile
Rachel
I think you have your answers.
Swinging is a liberated act of consensual sex between consenting adults outside of the normal restraints of the bedroom and the institution of marriage. Although on many occasions it assists marital sex.
The main point is this sex is provided free to the recipient.
Your service to the community is not free has restraints and needs to follow established censorship guidelines. You cannot act impartially it is the nature of the industry.
Words will be twisted.
Oh by the way in answer to your point re me receiving bad press as if I have a complex. I do not I am totally happy with my lifestyle and have met and had consensual sex with many people and always found them kind and loving people. We are not the to be condecended lower class.
Just look at the number of Jags (Sorry JAGS),Mercs, sports cars at the average Dogging venue by 1AM and this will tell your story.
I would rather mix with this crowd than the loutish yobs and drug dealers that our society appears to be tolerating.
Ok bit long winded but needs saying.
I can see no symbiosis in your request.
Sorry
Keep happy and fulfilled in your lifestyle.
However, if we can bring it back to your original query.
I think the original query was.
Can anyone advise me as to the best way of getting in touch with couples who might be interested?
And I still say the best way for Rachel to do that is to get involved and let people get to know her.
Of course, there is a bloody big sign on the door of the forum saying "Only Genuine Swingers Enter". lol

Kat
HERE HERE KAT !!!!
If Rachel wants to investigate she should be clever and mingle into
swinger society then she will not be seen as the outsider.
Go on Rachel have the guts and go to a swingers club and a dogger
location and see for yourself.
I though they called this Investigative undercover journalism.
Has she heard of this.
Sandie
Rach, best thing you could do is to do nothing but .........sling ya hook. We come here to see & be seen by like minded peeps. To arrange to meet like minded peeps. To chat to like mided peeps. You aint any of the above!!!!!! Best that nobody tells you what makes us tick, you and your readers/viewers just aint our century yet...........Bless xx
Personaly I think it would be a great idea in theory to show alternate lifestyles about the prejudice, hassle with police, yobs, and narrow minds etc.
"BUT" this will "NOT" happen.
I have no doubt the film will be made and will interview/ feature all the people we GENUINE doggers and swingers try to avoid at all cost having their 15mins of fame, we will then get even more unwanted media attention, sorry to go on mad but I've never seen a balanced film yet. So Rachel prove me wrong,
I've seen several of these documentarys.
The last I bothered with was the docu that followed Dirty-David (of .com fame) and his partner Jo' (and others)
That was at least balanced and gave various reasons and allowed the watcher to form a view (I've got it on cd)
Another followed a pretty hapless "dogger" on his trek from car park to sex club/s, and then a rather obvious staged car park at night to reveal other doggers in their night-vision-and-creeping obsession. That one was crap (anyone who has tried night vision gear anywhere near street lights will agree that)(!)
Personally, if the swingers want to give-it-a-go, carry on.
I'd prefer it if the doggers gave it a miss......we don't need any more layby cowboys about, do we ?

I hope you weren't suggesting that she should go along just as an observer - I think that's the last thing most people in this forum would want.
If she wants to "get her kit off" and get stuck-in (I guess she'd have to wear a strap on...) that would be a different matter. Is it too much to hope for a documentary with the introduction:
"I'd never tried swinging before, but for the purposes of this programme I gave it a try, and God I've never come so often in my life..."
Yes, probably. sad
Yes
Very good point.
I agree if she really is undercover.
Then she should partake and get really involved.
Not be an observer only.
You never know she just might like what she sees.
Interesting point though where is Rachel? she appears to have given up and gone away and is not fighting for her documentary.
She has made no valid counter argument at all.
This I fear proves we are correct.
Sandie
So she can see
I'd love to see this documentary. But I'm no film star, so sorry Rachel. redface
I feel it would (as in most things) be understood only by like minded people. (The genuine ones - you know who you are)
It is a difficult subject to portray in any one light as I have found it has many limbs (hee hee) some of which are attractive to some and some not.
Let's face it - what would the viewers want?
Well let me help you with that. They want sensationalism, to see the next door neighbour being humiliated and more than likely they want a piece of the action but dare not enter.
You have no understanding of what we do or what motivates us and therefore cannot comment unless you have experience of swinging. To that end perhaps we can help you here Rachel. We have a party here at the weekend - wanna cum??? There will be 13 couple here. The only conditions are as you would know if you are a swinger, Couples only, no camera's or recording, turn up naked with booze, and condoms and SWING. lol
Rachel......Rachel....... Come back hun...... I was kidding......honest. rotflmao
Where did she go? :2fingers:
mad bloody timewasters! :x (Fred, cross her off the Christmas list)

I think you're right. She was looking for some people to help her make a titilating program, while moralising about how terrible it all was. Once she realised we understood what she was up to she decided to go elsewhere. What would be really good would be a program on swinging that didn't show any film, and just discussed the issues seriously.
It's all a bit like Chris Tarrant's occasional programs saying how terrible foreign TV is because they show pictures of female breasts to large audiences, and here's some clips for you all to look at just to prove it...
