I am being invaded by the creatures of the night and not just any old creatures of the night - ferkin GIANT creatures of the night
I have a moth the size of a flasher's raincoat flittering around my head, 4 flying daddy-long-legs making themselves at home on the wall and to top it off .... the MOTHER OF ALL SPIDERS has just calmly strolled across my monitor. I am not afraid of spiders and usually let them be (they eat all the other nasties) but this beast looks too bloody big to be a regular house spider - so I am treating it with extra caution and will attempt to catch the monster when I find something big enough to capture it in.
If I should disappear offline for a few days - send help - it has probably got me!
step away from the moniter and phone steve irwin immeadiatly, coz that a real dangerous critter you got there lol let us know if you catch the bugger, i loved spiders until that bloody arachnaphobia film came out lol come catch mine when your done there polo lady wink
OK - I don't feel safe now!
I tried to get it and it got away - it is a really big son-of-a-bitch!. It does not look like a regular spider and it has now found somewhere to hide
:uhoh:
calm down dear its just a commercial lol sorry i cant help am too far away and me and spiders dont mix well wink

Strangely the over-sized moth and all the flying daddy-longlegs have disappeared (along with half a chick from the fridge) :uhoh:
I am being extra vigilant today!

I am trying to think - have a bought a large bunch of bananas lately or a tropical plant? confused
ok, i hate spiders too - my rule is if i can see the 'knee' joints, i kill em!
this worked when i had a one living in my workshop - found its web, smashed it up, waited for it to come and repair it, and torched him with carb cleaner aerasol and a lighter!!!!

I really don't mind spiders at all - I usually leave them to go about their business.
But this mother flucker is like having an extra lodger. I am concerned it is not native to these shores
I HATE spiders and they always come to visit when the Laird is away somewhere overnight cause they KNOW I'm home alone
Do what I do........
Firstly, spray the spider with Extra firm hold hairspray (at least half a can ought to do it rolleyes ).
This stops the bugger from running away or spinning a web. It's like watching it go solid in slow motion lol
Then, smash it with a really big saucepan. Bit messy, especially the BIG ones but problem solved
I know, I'm not very nice but I have a wicked streak runs through me

lmao i used to spray them with hair spray its ace u watch them get slower and s-l-o-w-e-r
With creepy crawlies, I find that they don't like the smell of incense very much so I often burn some (incense that is) on window sills at evening sets in. My biggest bug bear are daddy long legs... confused

I know it's cruel but if the spider is on the wall above head height, then at least its not going to land on my head trying to get away !!
Also if there's one on the floor and it runs away and hides, I can't sleep till I've found it and dealt with it.

I got a feeling that some hairspray ain't gonna be that effective on this bugger, cos from what PoloLady has said, it's big enough to chuck a saddle on it's back and ride it outa the house

Just think of the environmental benefits of Spider travel
No green house gasses, just plonk a saddle on it fit it with reins and hey presto free travelling
not sure it would be that good for dogging though  I suppose it would have to become spidering lol
