I'm listening (at gloriously loud volume it must be said) to The Stereophonics' Local Boy In a Photograph.
What a great song it is.
I'm always keen to hear new or forgotten gems and to add them to my iPod... So, can anyone recommend me some of their favourites to discover?
always a good one to return to every few years: Whole Lotta Rosie, AC/DC
lp
Gilles Peterson's Brazilika album has some great tracks on it.
At volume, I always smile when I hear 'Since you been gone' by Rainbow. It may be old and a bit dated but it sounds like it means it when you turn it up to 11
This song always made my hairs stand on edge, don't think it was given the credit it was due.
the full version of wont get fooled again by the who.
listen to keith moons drumming
wont get fooled again is indeed an awesome tune.
i have edged for all of Dark Side of The Moon, just cos i cant pic a track out.
Judy Tzuke for me "Stay with me til dawn". Great song for having sex to!
oo!
just remembered Pat Benatar's Love is a Battlefield.
No I dea why, but I rather liked that... back in the day, and always enjoy an accidental listen should a music station play it.

Just for the lyrics, I always liked 'The Air that I Breathe' by the Hollies:
If I could make a wish I think I'd pass
Can't think of anything I need
No cigarettes, no sleep, no light, no sound
Nothing to eat no books to read
Making love with you, has left me peaceful warm inside
What more could I ask
There's nothing left to be desired
Sometimes all I need is the air that I breathe and to love you
All I need is the air that I breathe yes to love you
Just to have you now
All I need is the air that I breathe you're all I want
Peace came upon me and it breathes in me
Don't sleep silent angel don't you sleep
Sometimes all I need is the air that I breathe and to love you just to have you now
All I need is the air that I breathe yes to love you
All I need is the air that I breathe you're all I want
etc.
Sunshine on Leith- The Proclaimers. It gives me chills.
More recently- This I love, GnR.
If anyone saw Goldie either competing as a classical conductor or trying to write a piece for the proms, you should really check out the full version of Mother on his Saturnzreturn album, an epic 60 minute drum & Bass/ambient//experimental/classical melting pot which should give you a good idea how he ended up trying to compose for the proms with no formal musical training- and this is an 11 year old album too
I get both melancholic and a little euphoric at Chirpy chirpy cheep cheep!
Far underated - I think it should be on the last night at the proms
is a powerfull song that always has me blubbering like a child when I hear it
and so does
Paul Rodgers has always been fantastic but with queen he excels! Fantastic concErt 3 years ago at Hyde park, week after London bombings and very emotional.
Another horny song is This City Never Sleeps by Eurythmics. It's fro 9 1/2weeks, the scene where she's flicking thro slide show and stroking herself. Naughty girl!!
This- written by the late Kirsty MaColl, and sung by Eddie Reader, is beautiful
