i don't mind keeping a chart or weekly weigh loses but you have got to be honest if you put a pound on you have to tell us lol

You don't have to pay any attention to me, but this is what I did last year. I started a spreadsheet and everyone sent me their weight and their target weight for the 16 weeks or whatever it was. (I had to promise not to disclose anyones true weight on the site).
Each Sunday was weigh in day but sometimes they didn't arrive until Monday or Tuesday. So Wednesday or Thursday I would put up a new post with some nugget to keep interest, the person who lost the most, the person who lost the least, champs list and must try harder, those who'd failed to post weight to me, anything I could think of to be readable and halfway interesting, (but only the lbs added or lost, never the real weight).
At the end only about 30% were still losing and posting, but that's inevitable. It helped me I'm sure, though some people thought I was a bit of a bully demanding weights and posting names of those who didn't bother. But not much in the world works without a motivator to shove.
It wasn't hard work, but I was pleased when it ended because I'd given myself an obligation and wanted to see it through, so I think the period of the diet needs to be limited to the time you think you can offer it.
Well there is nothing wrong with my weight .. its my height I have a problem with ... am about 2 feet too short for my weight lololol
DD
Well what can I say, looks like we got ourselves a group withing the group( i surely need to loose a few pounds).
Anyone that seriously wants to do this as a group activity, pm me your names to start and I will draw up charts for us all we I can thenpm/email back each week, will even do something to make it fun, dunno what yet but will think of something
we could borrow them bloody big scales they have on that TV show thingy and make it into a competition smile
Can you count me in please smile
I'm 10 stone at the moment but would like to get to about 9 stone 2lb if thats possible lol
Shaz x
Well I've lost about 2 stone this year but still have about 4 to go. As I keep saying there's a slim person inside screaming to get out & I'm just not happy the way I am!
I have been a member of a Slimming Club which does help but I've reached a plateau in the last few weeks as I've dropped a dress size, bought new clothes & feel happier in myself. However, this 'group' as Sleazy put it might be the answer especially if I have to say twice a week how I'm getting on!!
I did drop 1 1/2 lbs this week when I went along tonight but this has nothing to do with what I've eaten this week it's purely as a result of sexercise
Where do I sign up???
I would love to do it, except I'm already at my ideal weight and need to convert it into muscle rather than lose it sad
Maybe we could do a separate beefcake spreadsheet instead? lol

or as well indeed lol
Well I started a diet early September time, I had got to 15 stone and didn't like myself (apart from the fact nothing fitted anymore !).
I'm trying to get back to 11 1/2 stone by the beginning of February, cos H and I are getting married on Feb 14th smile
Problem is the first few weeks went well, but in all I have only lost about a stone so far........ must try harder !! ................ it ain't easy what with the temptations of crisps, chocolate, and mmmm Beer ! .......... but I'll just have to keep plugging away at it I spose confused

omg i best get sleazy the pc wizz to do me some kinda chart on the pc to keep notes of you all lol

I think that when I became a rugby player, it was for a reason...that being that rhythmic gymnastics wasn't really an option for me...so...count me in to the New Year Group Shrinkage effort.
Also if Sleazy doesn't answer your call for help, just give me a shout, be glad to help out.
this is probably a useless reply as you will all know this but hey......
when you start your diet...the first few weeks....you always lose a considerable amount of weight (thats how some diet regimes sell it)......obviously changing your diet for a more healthy option will shred the pounds.....but after this honeymoon period....as your body gets close to its natural weight for some 1 your size and metabolic rate it gets harder...
apparantly over 50% of people give up at this stage.....
some try to stop eating almost all together (cambridge diet etc)..the weight drops off...but your body...being the intelligent machine it is....instead of storing say 10% of fat then realises its fat % is being depleted and stores almost 100% so when you eat again it just goes straight back on....
the tried and tested partnering does work very well...but as for the amount of weight per week after the honeymoon period... about 2lb a week....at that rate your body does not notice the weight loss and wont go into overdrive storing more fat......
i know this is a basic reply and there are thousands of ideas to losing weight being a multi billion pound industry......

Perhaps another Top Tips for Weight Loss thread, to debunk the old wives tales and give top advice on how it should be done (incl more of that aerobic exercise that they say burns off 500 calories per hour)
The secret formula is
Eat less, move more.

oops redface
A good idea to lose weight would be to use New Years or a similar memorable date as a target rather than a starting point, and always remember to keep at it

Nobodies weight will be posted on the forum unless done so by themselves, mine ain't going on either, however we will have to admit to what we weigh for starting weigh purposes confused
I will be joining a slimming club in the new year for a bit of extra support so any tips and recipies will be passed on would be nice if other joining any clubs would do the same smile
How about regular "Slimmers-Only" get-togethers, at a club (TBA) to provide mutual moral (immoral?) support and all that sort of stuff. If Weight Watchers think that there is something to be had by having group meetings, then there must be something to it. Hey, who knows, someone who knows about these sort of things could work out a "suitable" aerobics workout for us all to do to burn off some calories while we are there???
Ha ha, slimmers only, cool makes a change from couples only lol And at least we won't have lots of wafer thin skinny Kylie-esque types around to point fingers at us.
BTW no wafer thin skinny Kylie-esque types were harmed or killed during the writing of this posting.
I could do with a diet could do with losing curves although would I have to give up the things i love .......... redface
How many cals is in sperm  ???????????????
on a seriious note wink i like slimmig world as you can stil eat loads and I love making the ministrone soup :0) which bags you right up aand you can eat as much of it as you like . lol

Wasn't suggesting that it was compulsary, but for those who can get to a club (Chams or somewhere?) for a get together...could be fun for those who can make it...needn't be the same ones every time, and I doubt that weight will be the topic of converstion for too any nano-seconds
naughtynymphos1 and sleazy, would you like to get togather and come up with a plan, who's to log, who's to post etc and maybe open a new thread for joiners?
Thanks

don't think you've quite got the idea of this slimming thread thingy have you?
firstly i ain't going to no swinging club to sit and talk about my bloody weigh with everyone confused
Count me in on this (as well as Mr NWC even though he dont know it yet wink )
If anyone is going to join a club and wants to swap ideas/recipes etc, please let me know. I have previously lost weight with Slimming World (cause you can still eat loads, including Jacket spuds, pasta - Green day and bacon, eggs, other lean meat on Original day) but am open to suggestions if anyone else can suggest another club.
