Last January 2rd a group of us here embarked on a diet that lasted I think through to the Spring Bank Holiday. I have now put on all but 5 lbs of the approx 18 lbs I lost. Anyone else like to start another, same day, new year?
The only thing is we would need a volunteer to record the weight changes and write the weekly reports. I'm due to move 120 miles to new house in January so I'll have enough on my plate.
I'll try with you, last year i joined a slimming club and lost 6 and a half stone then xmas came  and i put weight on over xmas and i told myself i would start again in the new year, anyway as the weeks went on the harder it was to go back and have now but back on about 5stone of the 6 and half i lost sad i would dearly love to loose the weight again and doing it with other would help i think.
how would this work tho do we just get weighed at home etc and then log on and trust we are telling the trust about our weight lose?
Right i'll help with the diet but cant promise on helping to much on keeping taggs on everyone and there weight lol but i'll offer my help
i don't mind keeping a chart or weekly weigh loses but you have got to be honest if you put a pound on you have to tell us lol
I wish you were doing it now.
I'm trying to drop 8 pounds so I can sit comfortably in my jeans without this huge muffin top trying to strangle me. It's always the little bits of weight that are the hardest to get rid of.
Im already on a diet at the mo, but it would be good to have support and encouragement so count me in!!!

I'd be happy to start now but I wonder if it's a realistic expectation with the festive season round the corner. If everyone starts to put weight on won't we all lose heart. Starting the day after new year gives us a chance, and also, probably feeling somewhat the worse for food and drink we may not feel like eating and drinking, so good for a kick start.

Ooooh tis good to see you :rose:
Ummmm better count me in too please NN redface
I have to work so much during Dec, that I don't have those temptations to worry about. No family here, no parties, no buffets, and I don't drink, so it makes no difference to me.
Count me in, confused oh and Caron please wink

Thanks so much for such a lovely welcome. One day we will have that lunch, I shall forever be grateful for the help and support you gave when I was in need. kiss
I'm officially hibernating through the Christmas season to avoid repeating the last two years (2st in 3 weeks and 6 days with severe stomach cramps from overeating). Being a regular gym nut I'll shout power slogans at everyone every few days lol
burnie, you're right, it's always the last 5lbs that's the hardest to get rid of, or in my case the 10lbs around my waist that makes me look like a cartoon character that's swallowed a rubber ring

your banned from this thread lol
Weight training is a secret weapon for losing fat - and carrying on throughout xmas is the way forward. - that way a decent chunk of the weight u put on is lean body mass, which helps you lose fat.
Eating something sensible BEFORE you go out to an xmas party works too. If you're not hungry when you go out, you can just pick on a couple of things and enjoy them rather than shovelling sausage rolls down your throat because you're famished.
oi we not starting till 2nd jan so bog off with ya pre new year tips :lol2:
Im the perfect weight for my height cool 8-)
Im just not tall enough, so count me in. I really could do with shifting about half a stone now so that will be a stone and a half after holiday excesses
Im in i do need to lose a few pounds around the middle
i'd love to get involved in this! i need to lose a good few stone and get myself a bit fitter! maybe a way to do it would be to start it off at the start of next year! everyone who wants to get involved would post their current weights and desired weight on a new thread, set up at the start of the year! then on a set day every week a new thread could be started and everyone can update it on there! that way the responsibility wouldn't fall to one person to keep everything updated. if anyone is not happy about putting their weight down then they could just say what they have lost and start it off with a target weight loss on the first thread! i think doing things this way would mean that everyone takes responsibility for themselves and anyone who tells any fibs would only be cheating themselves!
there could also be another thread for recipies, tips, motivational words etc to keep everyones spirits up! the ones who are doing well can encourage the others who aren't doing so well, so that everyone will hopefully reach their goal!
Let me know what you think? is this a good idea? or am i just talking rubbish?
cheers
Ewen

Remember awhile ago there was a series called Fat Friends about a bunch of people in weight loss club? I'll never forget their slogan 'nothing tastes as good as slim feels'
...er maybe I did forget when hubby put that 10 lb tin of chocolates in front of me....oh, and when Tesco had chocolate chip homemade biscuits in the reduced bin and I bought all 10 packs of them....and when... oh brother, forget it.
