Just a thought of who makes you turn off the TV or change channels when they appear on screen. For me, it`s Colin and Justin, the house designers :rude: I am not against queers, the scots or interior designers, but these guys are so far up their own a***s, they make me sick. Come on you guys! Do you really think that turning a consevtary into an oasis complete with sand is going to make people fall over themselves to buy!
There is something wrong with my tele it goes off on its own every 5 minutes
other than that i hate soap's
My God! A reply to my first thread! Thank you Robert1961!
I make hubby turn the TV off. When theme tunes start playing it really puts me off my rhythem, there is nothing more unnerving than trying to come to the Eastenders tune it is too slow
rolleyes
For me it's more a case of who makes me turn ON the tv. I tend to watch football, motorsport, Dr Who ( redface ) and the odd film, but I'd rather be online or reading a book. Tv seems to be nearly all Soaps and Reality Shows now, and I hate them both!

worship very well said lissa tv these days is total cr*p well over the top with soaps & reality shows & in most cases the films are not a patch on the book they came from!
my biggest trouble is i cant bring myself to get rid of any books im gonna have to move into a bigger flat soon just to make room for my book collection confused
Deff with you with the motor sport there Lissa - F1, rallying, MotoGP, Touring cars all good and I`m deffo with you on reality progs also :fuckinghell: :censored:
if its got CELEBRITY in the title i reach for the remote. all these people who are famous for shagging footballers or being in eastenders in 1991 make me heave. give me a simpsons dvd or a good book anyday.
I hate any soaps. Why have 4 episodes a week and then re-run them at the weekend.
Surely there is something more intresting to put on. Also hate any wife/holiday/car/flamin bungalow swap rubbish. And Colin and Justine, any need to be so dramatic
I'll shut up now but my general opinion s that TV is c##p!!

Same for Jon and I. So much on tv these days is aimed at *dumbing down* the masses and quite honestly I find it insulting confused
Take for instance, the recent showing of a dramatised version of Bleak House. This is one sort of programme I do like. Period drama with good actors, beautiful sets and exquisite costumes. I expected it to be shown in either one or two hours slots as these progs usually are.
A multi million pound production, all star cast, etc, but shown in half hour slots and labelled a "soap version" of a classic book, which would apparently appeal to this soap addicted society.
Do they think no one can sit and watch something for longer than 30 minutes now before losing interest? rolleyes
We often wonder why we bother with a tv licence, since we probably only put the tv on about half a dozen times a year and then it would have to be something which really grabs our interest.
Tracy-Jayne
I tend to agree with alot of the posters about the dumbing down of tv. I must admit I do like the West Wing and the Law and Order programmes from America but thats about it biggrin
Janet Street Porter, I'd love to give her a slap, THEN turn off the TV.
Why bother? its all crap anyway! just put on some good music and Shag yr partners brains out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! cool
hmmmm  I've obviously missed something.
Moved out of matrimonial home after divorce a month ago and brought a telly with me. Thought I wouldn't switch it on without having a licence (It would be just my luck to get caught). After 2 weeks, I went back to dog & daughter-sit while the ex went ou. After 2 weeks without a telly I switched it on and within 10 minutes switched it off again....absolutely NOTHING worth watching!
I.m going to save money and not bother with a TV licence and the telly is skip-bound. Chatting to you guys is going to be far more entertaining!
Television? I'd rather sit in the corner eating my own flesh! lol
I hate reality TV shows......worse ones are those with z-list celebrities!! mad
my telly is on my laptop - so if i am on here there is nothing on the telly to make me turn it off.
but i do agree with a previous post, soaps and all of them do not get to be seen in my house.
Joe pasquale (sp?)
That man irritates me so much as does Catherine tate who seems unable to say anything more tha " Am I bovvered" - no we're not - sod off my TV!
I think most of Tv suits all those people who buy the Sun newspaper - vacuous heads

Gotta agree with you there ... what irritates me is that if you go to the hairdressers, that's all they seem to talk about and you are trapped with no escape ... they dont even seem bothered that you dont watch it but continue to tell you what's going on dunno

I absolutely agree... even if there were more than just soaps and reality TV I would still find it difficult to watch as I have very little time free. I always wondered about those people who have Sky or cable etc, where do they get the time to watch so many channels?
I need at least a 50 hour day to do all the things I want to do in a day smile
