Thanks for all the posts, but I still need a LOT more including sad to say some start weights from a week ago. Yes please.... NOW mad :x
In response to a suggestion by Stupot I have now changed my name to Harvey Musketeer for the next 12 weeks so I can start SHOUTING at people who SAY they want to lose weight but don't want to TRY!!! evil
I'm out of the office tomorrow so I will try and complete my first weeks report for posting Tuesday p.m. but it might be Wednesday morning.
Harvey Musketeer!
Well i have to report that i aint lost any weight!
But i am starting to notice my fitness pick up a wee bit though
Sorry to let the team down
Having had what I thought was a bad week, from both an eating and exercise point of view; I'm astounded to say - I've lost 3 pound.
Blew it on the smoking front, but having spent a very pleasant weekend in the company of a rather charming non smoker, I haven't had a smoke since Saturday morning.
Weight loss by numbers
18lbs can be lost in a year by walking 45 mins a day.
1lb of body fat lost walking up 4 flights of stairs aday over 1 year.
100calories burnt off every 2000steps.
if you walk at this speed you will use the same amount of energy as you would running the same easiest way to tell if a brisk walk is fast enough is holding a conversation but with some difficultyyou need to be slightly out of breath.(if wife/gf still nagging quicken pace, next point wont apply if she realises what your doing)
1min of walking can extend your life by up to 2mins.
2-5 litres of water need to be dunk daily.(tried this done 4000 steps to the toilet, didnt have time to eat in between meals)
good luck all
Well I managed to put 1lb on this week, but after my 10lb weight loss through illness last week I thought that was pretty good. So even though the official results won't show it, I'm actually 9lb lighter than I was a couple of weeks ago

Me too... I got on the scales this morning expecting to not have lost a thing or worse... but a 4lb loss is what I got. smile I'm expecting the coming week to be harder though... :)
4lb lost here too and my stomach seems tighter hopefully due to the exercise
Feeling so much better and even more determined biggrin
11 days off the cigs too wink
OK, here goes,
Now before I start I just want you all to know that the only reason I’m telling you this is because I think what you are all doing is great, and I’d like to help out. biggrin Under no other circumstances would I reveal the following information. … .. Oh and I insist you keep it to yourselves, no telling anyone ok?…. good. :small-print:
For years now I have weighed 22 stone, … redface .. Omg I cant believe I just told you that……. surprisedops:
My blood pressure was so high I was on permanent medication, as was my cholesterol. I have tried every diet in the book and nothing worked, why? Because I just can’t do hungry, if I let myself get hungry I get physically sick, light headed, and the stomach pains have to be felt to be believed.
Then 9 months ago I discovered Dr. Atkins (god bless him and keep him) I now weigh 16st 6, was taken off the anti-cholesterol medication 3 months ago and last month I was taken off the beta blockers. My Dr. is so impressed that he’s gone on Atkins himself.
As for me, I am losing about half a stone every 4 to 5 weeks and have never felt fitter.
My point is, no matter what your metabolism, lifestyle or outlook, there is something out there that works for you.
Good luck people, I will be following this thread with interest.

That's a fantastic loss, and great to hear your health problems are improving with your continued success.

I too follow a low carb lifestyle, I've come across negativity in the past from people about it, but as Denise says, if you've found something that works for you then stick with it.
I felt that to carry my excess weight around (I've currently lost 4st 9lb) was far more of a danger to my health.
Well done again you
