Whingeing!
After living abroad for nearly a decade there are many things I noticed about Britain on my return and whingeing stands out from everything else.
I'd also say dressing badly and generally looking scruffy seems to be a national characteristic.

LOL.......having to drill thru them to fit a navigation switch, they are a bit brittle! Cheeky

Dull, grey, chilly Sunday afternoons!
Making tea.
Snooker and darts.
Inventing things and then letting someone else put them in to commercial use and earning money from them. Though if physics, maths and engineering education continues it's downhill gallop, we won't be good at that for much longer sad

For what it is worth (and that is not a lot) i think we are good at being British!
People travel the world over but one of the most wanted to visit places is Britain and one of those very daft surveys says that a high percentage of people enjoy visiting Britain and would return as well as recommend it to their friends.
Boring but true and does not really add anything to this discussion....sorry lol

:therethere: apart from the rather horrible things like crappy houses, high rents & general cost of living & seperate tabs for hot & cold water & not cleaning the bathroom, theres quite a lot of things that are good!
the english are quite friendly and polite, gsoh, quality comedy, good music, tv program is nice, err...winter is relatively warm. im sure theres more lol
