I saw Queen back in 86, and hubby has been a fan since 73/74 when he first saw them backing mott-the-hoople.
Freddy was a great front man so I did have reservations on how they were going to pull this off.
All I can say is in no way was Paul Rogers trying to be Freddy. Paul Rogers in great live, I have never rated him on in the studios.
There was one song Paul Rogers sung that I thought he didn’t really pull it off That was “the show must go on” but other than that the rest was good.
What a lot of people seem to forget is Queen wasn’t just Freddy, Brain May and Roger Taylor are brilliant musicians and I was gobsmacked at their performances last night outstanding. Freddy was there last night he was mentioned a lot he haven’t been forgotten. When Brian may sung “Love of my life” and dedicated it to Freddy you seemed to feel him there beside you.
So I would say a great concert!
Have you seen the new line up?
Even if you haven’t, what are you views?
Should the music carry on?

rotflmao :rotflmao:
I loved Queen with Freddy and I loved Paul Rodgers no matter who he was with. I havent seen Queen since Freddy departed and I doubt I will.
I cant see how they can justify charging £50 a ticket
You should have seen the prices for the Led Zep concert. I was going to go to 500 quid, but on E Bay they were selling for over double that.
Yes agreed but 50 quid seems less than the going rate nowadays for tickets.
you must have more money than sense!
But then should I be shocked as I knew that sense is way down you list of haves! :rotflmao:
Sorry I think I scored there, just getting you back for earlier! 1-1 lol
How strange, I was only thinking that about someone else I know
 smackbottom It was hubbies birthday present I only paid £38a ticket shhh don't tell him!
No Woman
No Child
No Freddie
No Queen

Not if they keep taking the pillip.
.
sorry to bring this thread back!
I was talking to a few people about a drum solo that Roger Taylor done at the concert and I have found this link, I thought is shows his musical talents.
He done this set up just the same at the O2.
So thought I would post it here.
Sorry but I never rated Queen, IMV it's just pretentious bollocks.
A recent project I worked on highlighted the character of Brian May.
Whilst recording the relatively recent remake of the Cliff Richard classic "Move It" May insisted on so many additional guitar-based overdubs that the resultant musical overload meant that the bass track and some of the drum tracks had to be lost. It caused so many problems that he had to be reined in by the other musicians and caused all manner of dissent.
The guy's so egocentric that he even mints his own head on the tanner pieces he uses as a plectrum.
As I said, pretentious bollocks, now add to that grasping for every penny that can be had out of the reputation of Queen.

fantastic picture.... Rolf has always reminded me of a dog we had years ago, when the neighbours Giant French Poodle shagged our Shitzu.
sorry for the hijack...
As far as Queen are concerned, whilst i think Mercury had a great voice... the music was shite.

It is always nice to see the Queen can still get out and about.

She's amarvel, at her age, an all! Gawd bless yer, ma'am!
LOL Glad it wasn't just me :giggle:

I have rather eclectic tastes in music so not sharing a liking of one band doesn't necessarily mean we don't share some that we like.
Music is a major part of my life, both personally and professionally.
Eclectic Light Orchestra hey? Very Old school biggrin
Queen are my all time fave band and I wouldn't go to see them without the Maestro. As good as Paul Rodgers is, it's not the Queen I've loved for over 30 years and Freddie Marcury was such a big part of the band, it wouldn't be the same without him

I think the surviving members should be shot and buried with the prancing moustace and every instance of their work burned as a tribute
