Richard and judy are on the tv (not watching it honest redface ) and have given me an idea for a post.
Which band would you like to see reformed from your youth ?
Personally, I was always a fan of Swing Out Sister and wouldn't mind hearing them again - just for the song 'Breakout'.
Does anyone else have any favourites from the past ?
Dire Straights
or Genesis (with Peter Gabriel)
OMD
Are Simple Minds still together? If not then - them too!
oooo - I could think of loads!
I know Jim Kerr is still involved in the music scene as a friend of mine who runs a record label had him in the studio some time ago. Although the end product wasn't very good (allegedly).
NKOTB
That's New Kids On The Block for those who weren't doing Peter Kay style dance rountines around their bedrooms, singing along into the hairbrush infront of the mirror. redface NOt that I would know anything about that....................... at all..............

actually.... i was watching VH1 the other night and they were doing a "bands reunited" on NKOTB.....it was really interesting.. the knight brothers said yes and the rest said no....   well thats my sister gutted....
sean xxxxxxx.
lol Sometimes I'm glad I don't have cable or sky.
My favourite NKOTB was Joe cos he was sooooo cute and had a dimple, the next favourite was Jordan Knight cos he was the bad one with the dark hair and looked mean. biggrin
Not that I have all their singles on vinal........... oh no, not me............ nevarrrr! rolleyes bolt
if you talking about bands you got have the specials. The Specials is where it all started and it is where it will finish. The Specials is it. It doesn't get better than the Specials.
few of the members still play in coventry..so need to get down there
and who else could write lines like this
Call me immature
Call me a poser
I'd love to spread manure in your bed of roses
Don't want to be rich
Don't want to be famous
But I'd really hate to have the same name as you
(you silly moo)

now, I was never that sad. biggrin
I was an East 17 girl and you weren't allowed to like TT. It was all baggy checked shirts and trousers. Big workman boots and a lot of trying to look " 'ard " lol
ahh back in the tomboy days.
I think the other band I'd have reformed would be Skunk Anansie. Skin just wasn't as good on her own........

if the stone roses get back together i will know there is a god.....
oooooooooo loads and loads and loads!
the beatles obviously . . . though a bit tricky that one now! sad
nirvana . . . bit tricky there too! :(
the throwing muses . . . one of the best gigs i've seen
the velvet underground . . . lou reed never bettered the early stuff.
the who . . . unlikely i know, they hate eachother!
the verve
the sisters of mercy . . . the proper ones, not the rubbish ones that went on after the split for a bit after.
the wedding present . . . leeds band! cracking stuff!
the stone roses . . . never saw 'em live. all for the best really. he can't sing can he?
neil x x x ;)
For me it would have to be The Smiths,i was too young when they were together
Or Orbital, who have just split up,but i never got to see them either.
Now theres plenty of bands i wish had split up!!

missed out on the smiths. supposed to go see 'em not long after charming man was released, and family crisis and funerals got in the way! sad

Well I’ve seen loads of bands in my time and played in some too, but one band I never go to see was THE MOVE, before my time. And no I’m not that old but I do know some of then from my playing days. just like to know what the hell they were talking about....
squeeze!!!
Apparently VH 1 tried......does anybody know the outcome of that one?
For me it would have to be THe Band, pretty tough tho as two have passed were all so talented.
For me the original Alice Cooper Band, although their guitarist Glen Buxton has since died....
Then Queen...although Freddie is dead as well......shame that!
OK...then The Smiths.......I saw them do their last ever gig (although we didn't know that at the time) at the Brixton Academy in 1986.

that was the first "bands reunited" i saw.....
do you really want me to spoil the ending for you...... biggrin :D :D
actually the answer is i don't know.. watched most of it right up until i have a piggin powercut... but i saw it up to where everyone signed up except for jools holland......
As soon as I saw this, I knew straight away what my answer would be....
Iron Maiden . Bruce Dickinson aka the foghorn as vocals.
On my passport aged 16 my hair was long and the leather jacket crowned the image to perfection. Nowadays the longest hairs I have either sprout out of my ears or my nose. LOL. And as for the leather jacket. Alas that is no more having tried to slide down the road attached to a motorcycle once too often.

OMG CCR!!!!!!!! Of course!
{..... not sure if I remember Fox though - hum a tune for me Agricola and I'll seeif it jogs my memory)
Id like to see East 17 fully reformed and made into useful members of society .
Also id like to to see WestLife reformed , but on a genetic level perhaps using one of those machines that Jeff Goldblum had in the The Fly .
Failing that I cant disagree with the previous poster who suggested The Specials , but on the express understanding that we wouldnt have to suffer a reformation of the Fun Boy Three straight afterwards .
Would love to see the Jam reform , Nirvana just to re-live my teens, and how about the Commadores with old Lionel?
Bit of variety there!
Saw the Happy Mondays at Brixton when they Re-formed a few years back for a laugh, it was great especially when it nearly ended up in them having a punch up when the sound processing equiptment packed up!! MEMORIES! rolleyes
and still no one has mention the clash
the second best band ever
