Actually, Cali, I thought we'd had less of the navel gazing in the last few weeks. A month or two ago it was the majority of threads. Recently we've seen some damn good posters/thread starters reappear and it just seems to be more natural good fun. I'm certainly enjoying it at the mo' (if anybody hadn't noticed).
Difficult to cast my mind back as far as the start and what I expected. I think I can confidently say I didn't have any clear cut expectations but whatever they were they've been exceeded.
We've had some golden eras on here - all different - and I personally think we're in one now. Each golden era has been sandwiched in between a dickhead phase. How long it will last, will, I guess, depend on when the next dickhead arrives - unfortunately it only takes one!!

We joined this site to meet other sexy likeminded people. I wasn't sure at all about swapping so I joined in the banter on this forum & eventually took the plunge to go to a munch. That was :scared:
I had no expectations on anything from this site then nor now. I take it at face value

But surely everything in life evolves and changes with time? Sometimes for the better and sometimes for the worse. I don't think that anyone is making any demands that affect all 1,000,000 (ho hum) Members. Just an option for those that want it to be able to have verification and those that don't, well they don't have to.
This is not about segregation, despite how comments were taken ridiculously out of context on another thread - it is just about options and choice.
Any web site host or commercial entity has to keep exploring the options for change and improvement otherwise they will just be standing still and in a moving world that is going backwards.
The way I see the verification thread debate is that those who want it are happy for it to be an opt in system just for those who want it and to enable those that don't to maintain their status quo with an option to opt in (and out again) whenever (or if) they want to. It seems that those who don't want verification prefer a blanket stay as you are situation which does somehow display a lack of tolerance for those who simply want an opt in system.

I had no expectations at all as i was pointed here by someone i chatted to on a friends site, i didnt really know anything about the lifestyle, site etc so had a totally open mind.
first thing i did was place and add, after hundreds of replies, i cacked myself and took it back off, never done it since redface

i found the forums and lived there for months until i ventured into chat, i have never used chat before and found it quite daunting at first.
the first year i was around i was away at some munch, social or other and the north east has a very very good social side
ive made some good friends which is a surprise, ive had some fantastic and some not so good sex but everyone i have met has always been fine, have been lucky not to pick nutters, well not too nutty!
ive seen parts of the country i would never have gone to, worn some radged fancy dress costumes, and had a bloody good time with folk
ive had my eyes opened to things i never knew existed, had my boundaries pushed and still are being pushed
so all in all i have had a Fookin good time and intend to continue doing so.

I came here after searching google for 'personal ads' so I can perv some more pics.
Got chatting to people, and still didn't grasp the concept of swinging, or the mentality of it, and then I had an epiphany, and it all made sense, and it has led to some great and fantastic friendships, some awesome sex, and some inspiration for good times to come.

There`s no "blanket stay as you are" at all !!!
It`s simply a case of saying that the verification option is already available on other sites. Nobody is saying that you can`t join a site that has verification !!!
So basically Flower you are saying that if we are thinking about verification and thinking it may be something we want we should leave Swinging Heaven???
And you have accussed others of being "intolerent and controlling"

I joined SH because it offers a wide variety of people, with different views (whether i agree with them or not), and for the most part is very tolerent and open towards others. I've made some great friends since i've lost a few as well through the learning process many of us i know go through on here.
Oh and i dont remember kff30 saying that if u are anti verification to stay off his thread simply that he was more than aware of yours and others feelings about it, if that is how you read it maybe it says more about your views on things than his.

can I just say how :shock: really, really :shock: to see people being asked to stay away from a thread. We all have opinions & if you post on a thread your opinion then we have to take the good & bad from others opinions. This is all part of the forum.
Flower, you have the right to post in any other thread, just because you don't agree with some of the others I agree with you on that other thread. I didn't want to bring thatup in here as this is another thread about expectations of SH.

What did we expect from SH? To be honest, I have not got a clue. We joined on the spur of the moment as I had seen something in the forums and wanted to answer something which had been said. Unfortunately, it became a bit adictive and we are still trying to escape.
However, I can say that we did get a lot from it that we would never in a thousand years have expected. The fantastic socials, the munches, the true friendships and the lack of time for real life stuff cause we are always either on here, or off out meeting someone wink

Swinging heaven is more than a quick shag site, it is a community (and I know that someone will make some sarcastic comment about that) and even though we do have loads of very close ral life friends, the ones we have made on here are so very special as they know about our little secret :wink:
