I have to admit to being a total sci-fi freak.
There, I said it. redface
It's gotta be films where I know what's going on and not asking questions all the way through - otherwise people get v. cross and say things like shut up :undecided:
Worst ones are when the goody and baddy look practically the same ...... they should stick with the 'ones blonde and the other's dark' to make the difference more obvious cool
But am a sucker for the 'Romantic Comedy' - easy to watch, funny and always end up with a tear in me eye by the end if not before rolleyes
Science fiction.
Favorite being "Blade Runner".
Others include "Alien" series, "Terminator" series, "Predetor" series and countless others.
Also love Bond, James Bond! Can watch them over and over!

Least I not the only one ;), Mrs TnH and I are watching Voyager in the background right now. I also love decent comedy...
Not overly keen on action films unless the have some kind of psychological headfuck involved. I do like risque comedies, and `sad bastard makes good` dramas. I loved Forrest Gump, anything Depp, or at least Tim Burton, and well done horrors.
Venusxxx
i like the historical type films.. and all the old epics like ben hurr and stuff! redface lol
i also like the "easy watching" type of stuff, like girlie flicks.
I like most anything really........Sci-fi........Aliens was great to watch, Romantic comedy.....A walk in the clouds......or Somethings got to give.........and yes definately girlie flick films. And I must admit I do like the old black and white films too.
Silly comedy
its 30th anniversary of Blazing Saddles

I remember the last time this was up Mrs FC and it made me remember what films I really liked. I then found a number of them at Asda very cheap so I got them, This included:
Gone with the wind
Once upon a time in the west
Alien series
Good the bad and the ugly
I love old black and white films and that includes musicals, any classics eg Jayne Eyre, Wuthering Heights, any Errol Flynn films where hes swashbuckling lol.
New films still cant beat for me Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter smile

How true Corrie, there are just soooo many good films.........Oooooh !! I remember a favorite of mine Great Expections, Wuthering Heights I had forgotton, thankyou for reminding me.
i saw the "wierdest" film ever last year at the cinema.. cant remember what its called.. was about a group of american college kids.. and it kept on rewinding and fastforwarding and stuff lol.

As soon as I read your post, I thought of The Others. Now that was weird and I had no clue what was really going on until the end. Excellent!
Ooh, yeah sci-fi, all of em.
All the bonds, any clancy adapated film, Hunt for red october, a sum of all fears etc
Any Jerry Bruckheimer/Don Simpson produced film, eg Crimson Tide, the Rock, Days of thunder. Top Gun, Le Mans. I also love the underdog films, doesnt matter the theme. I like chick flicks, and when the guy gets screwed over (its good to feel your not the only one  wink ) Sleepless in seattle ( Tom Hanks plays such an adoreable looser). Apollo 13 etc etc. Rocky films ("adrian"), nam films, shawshank redemption,
Gladiator, Sparticus, Heston films, airport films (just so i can rip them apart about there inaccuracies and jackanory).
Anything with a twist at the end! cool

Ahhhh that was a good film, I remember trying to work out the plot. Me and MrFC went ot see it at the pictures and everybody jumped at the same time, and all breathed in but when you all do it together it made quite a noise but I can't remember what part we all jumped redface surprisedops: and then it went all quite again, the atmosphere was spooky !!! If that makes any sense.... rolleyes
rist was a brill film.. but i thought they misse dout big time with the ending, there was a moment about a min before the end that would have made the BEST closing scene.
i remember that you could not hear a pin drop walking out after the film.
I love sci-fi (Soylent Green, Forbidden Planet, Metropolis, Quintet, The Day The Earth Caught Fire etc etc)(.
Also like good mystery/horror/spooky like (the original) The Haunting, Carnival of Souls, Cabinet of Dr Caligari, The Awful Dr Orloff.
Unusual stuff like earlier Peter Greenaway (Draughtsmans Contract, A Zed and Two Naughts), Pi, Sir Henry at Rawlinson End, Tetsuo...
Best films I've seen recently are probably and .
And not forgetting the classics like The Maltese Falcon, Casablanca, The Third Man, Breif Encounter etc etc etc etc etc! biggrin
I hate watching films .... mainly because I loose attention part way through redface and that's it for me ....
I used to be very into horror films but have grown up a bit since then ..... I'll watch most stuff, but definitely not into war/fight films!
Not fond of science fiction, coz it's too much like my job...unless it's tongue-in-cheek, like the upcoming "Hitchhikers' Guide" film or "The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension" (one of my favourites). I do like a good horror flick or psychological thriller and the odd drama - and, to echo Venus, anything Depp!
One of my faves of all time is The Green Mile.. I can watch it over and over again. I llike anything psychological and.. er.... anything disney redface lol
I detest horror films.
I absolutely love sci-fi - Hitch hikers my fav, think 7 of 9 (voyager) has a cracking set of ... lungs.
The WHOOSH Man
I enjoy watching thrillers, comedy and if someone is next to me, horror!!!!
i don't have a personal prefence it's normaly if it's on and i have time i'll give it a go and if the first 15min is okay i'll stick with it if not i'll switch it off smile one film which does spring to mind is what a woman wants with mel gibson and the hot looking lady(soz i can't rember her name redface )
A good action film and comedy.
Not really into drama or sci fi.
Except for Star Wars.

Helen Hunt?
I enjoy a good comedy, anything based on fact, true life, the odd weepy.....dont like war films with too much gore.
My favourite film is Amelie, directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet. Makes brill films.....
xanaisx
Woody Allen films are great, love em.
Also most of Stanley world is a worse place without him
Steve,xxx
I can't say I like a particular kind of film as such because I like all sorts from historical, comedy. romantic and sci-fi.
I do have favourite actors though such as Harrison Ford (specially in Star Wars and the Tom Clancy films), Mel Gibson (Lethal Weapon & Forever Young) and the gorgeous Johny Depp ( in ANYTHING!)!
But, for the type of film, it depends really on how I am feeling at the time.
If I want something to really cheer me up, i will watch one of my faves which always makes me laugh and it has the added bonus of starring Johny Depp (eyes to die for) too - Benny & Joon - it's a bit of a chick flick but it has a really good feel good factor.
I also like Blade Runner, Star Wars, Hunt for Red October, Beetlejuice, Notting Hill, Pretty Woman, Lock Stock & 2 smoking barrels, gone in 60 seconds etc etc.
I do hate films where you have to concentrate too hard to try and understand the plot though.

Apologies for offtopic, but does anyone else have this problem with soap operas? - whenever I shared a house with someone who watched both neighbours and home and away, I'd get REALLY confused between the sets of characters from each, and start making up strange hybrid plotlines confused
