Finding out after 40 years of believing my sister is the artistic one (and being told so by EVERY member of my family) that I can paint (watercolours not emulsion LOL). And what I paint is even recogniseable.

:therethere: there you go then! i work with the elderly too and we always hug our residents at bed time if that is what they want (the ladies that is) we have one gent who works with us and will not do so for obvious reasons. i will also peck them on the cheek and tell them 'good night, god bless' coz alot of think they are children and it's what they want to hear.
i think if it's what they want you should. we were losing one of our ladies and i nearly left without going to see her. i hugged her, told her to be good and i would see her soon. i didn't though as she passed away while i was off. i was so glad that i missed my bus home to go back to her.

I work with terminal cancer patients and one lady last week said to me 'I'm so glad you're with me tonight. I feel safe now'. She'd wake up now and then and reach out for my hand. The other morning I gave her a little kiss on the cheek to say goodbye. It made me feel good inasmuch as she was at ease knowing there was someone with her.
She passed away last night :cry:
