Father Ted

worship Absolute classic !
Does anyone remember Spaced? They only made 3 series I think, good to see it ended on a high but quality British comedy rotflmao
Sarah Cox on Radio 1 lol
I, too, think that Spacedis terrific. They made two series of it.
As a whole I don't find simply referencing another film/TV show etc. funny in itself which is something Family Guy/The Simpsons/South Park etc. are guilty of, although all of them can be very funny when they actually deign to have some wit.
But apart from Spaced, I always find Futurama a rewarding watch. It's pacey and witty, with some strange ideas which appeal to the oddness in me. I quite enjoy things which are a bit absurd but not necessarily abitrary. Bill Bailey, for instance, and Stuart Lee are both clever comedians and the humour goes deeper than just belly laughs or asking the audience if they've noticed how men always leave the toilet seat up.
I have noticed too that many of my jokes fall rather flat in the forum - evidence that my sense of humour is indeed quite odd at times.

Celtic getting beat :thrilled:
Early morning, full length mirror, bollock naked. Keeps me chuckling all day. Well it's that or weep.
oooh - Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps!
Used to absolutely love watching that. But it's a bit tricky now that it is repeated on BBC Three almost every night - never can tell when they are actually gonna show the new series! Bummer... mad
But you can't beat a bit of Buffy the Vampire Slayer - sure it was not primarily a comedy series but still has some fantastic funny bits in it. And also has the added bonus of a gorgeous heroine who seriously kicks butt!
Some Buffy quotes:
"Well, you know, I have a choice. I can spend my life waiting for Xander to go out with every other girl in the world until he notices me. Or I can just get on with my life."
"Good for you."
"Well, I didn't choose yet." -- Willow and Buffy
"I'm brainsick. I can't have a relationship with him!"
"Not during the day... but you could ask him for coffee some night. It's the non-relationship drink of choice. It's not a date, it's a caffeinated beverage. Okay, sure, it's hot and bitter, like a relationship that way, but..." -- Buffy and Willow
"So, you've been seeing a guy, but you don't know what he looks like. Okay, this is a puzzle. No, wait, I'm good at these. Does it involve a midget and a block of ice?" -- Buffy
"I bet you'd let a girl go off to her doom all by herself."
"Not just any girl. You're special." -- Cordelia and Xander
"You know, people underestimate the value of a good ramble." -- Buffy
"Those who can do. Those who can't laugh at those who can do." -- Xander
"I laugh in the face of danger! Then I hide until it goes away." -- Xander
OK these aren't my favorite quotes but were all I could find at short notice... smile But I could be persuaded to look harder... lol

There is a loony squirel that lives in the trees just outside my window. Now this guy is a wonderful athlete, but has no idea about distances. He makes my 1st coffee of the day a magical experience. Doesnt matter how snapped off I get, I laugh out loud.
Sometimes the world is just fun to watch as the little things happen.

Oh I love things like that :lol2:
I am one of the guilty ones that tend to humanise animals, imagine what they're thinking and stuff....
Just today - the first drama was the spider in the bath :scared: None of us like spiders, but I'm the mum, therefore exempt :smug: So as usual, eldest had to get it!
She got the cup and a bit of paper to slide under (youngest was hunting down the spider hoover and I was watching from another room! cool ) - thing is, the bath was slightly wet, so the paper went soggy. All I heard was a scream and then a blur whoosh past me  The spider had plopped out, but not properly and it swang from the paper rotflmao
Doting, caring mother here was too busy wettin herself laffin to offer any help :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao:
Youngest eventually managed to find the spider hoover and handed it to eldest, who was at the time still stood on her bed doing the "Ewww Ewww" dance confused
So she crept up behind the spider - it was a biggun, cos took a bit of wrestling to get him in there, no only in there, but sucked up
I was really laughing by this point, cos in comes the humanisation - and this spider looked really pissed off and indignant :lol2: Sat inside the hoover spout like a spider version of a cartoon Tasmanian Devil wriggling about, could almost see him miming small swear words :fuckinghell:
Then there's the drama of chucking it outside, daughter wanting to plop it out the window, me demanding she walk a mini marathon. Then she runs back - I have this image of her and the spider racing each other back to the house :?
Then this afternoon, I looked out the window and a squirrel was there burying his nuts. Although it was raining, the ground was still hard ............ I swear I saw that squirrel do about 3 running jumps at the nut to push it in the ground
Then he just sauntered off, even the chickens had stopped scratching to look at the squirrel, in a chicken type 'stunned silence what the bluddy ell is he doing' way. :lol2: I wanted to run out there and see if he had managed to completely bury the nut, or if he was just doing the running jump thing to save face, cos he didn't want to carry it somewhere softer :?
