expect a squeaking wheel for 4 hours a night when you trying to sleep :haha:
Ours was lazy and would lean against the outside of the wheel and never inside :silly:

Wheel will be lubricated with silicone spray at the first hint of a squeal and it will be in her bedroom so far enough away from us for us not to hear it (hopefully) :lol2:

A very "blonde" in more ways than one middle aged Labrador.
Until we left my best mate to house- sit, we had a huge tropical fish tank. As I said at the time, never mind, the carpet needed hoovering rolleyes
And we've been "about to get" a few chickens for about the last 6 months. In fact, the third lot earmarked for us are about to hatch confused

I don;t like animals as pets - although I fully accept that loads of people do - it's a personal thing.
I don't know an animal that doesn't dribble everywhere, shed hair and skin, need 'special' food, grooming, taking to the vets for incredibly expensive treatments, smell or any combination of the above.
Apart from a stuffed toy one of course biggrin
Mind you I love the sight of a well trained sheep dog doing its thing, or animals in the wild - or on my plate. Any of those and I'm fine - it's just them being in my house I can't do with.
1 very energetic 9 year old monkey who bounces of walls free to good home (or even a not so good home) will do
the mute button is broken but im sure that can be fixed!

Oh, we used to have Monkeys.... had the run of the house through a hole in the wall coming from the cage! So comical at times they were...
Just want to point out they were not pets as in the normal sense.

Is this a real monkey? Just wondering, because if so, I find it very disturbing that you don't care what happens to your pet once it is out of your hands. Especially given its age.
Why do people think it is okay to just give pets away when thay are tired of them... you see it happen so much. Why get it in the first place? Surely it is wrong to tell your child it's okay to swap the hamster she is bored with for an alternative pet. Surely one of the main points of giving children pets is so that they learn responibility? What example are we setting them?
Sorry if I offend anyone but it offends me that some choose to treat animals like insensitive possessions. They are living creatures with feelings, and we are responsible for their welfare the minute we decide to have them live in our homes. They're not stuffed toys that we can give to OXFAM when they are no longer fun.
Belinda,
You don't know tan (xfannyx)... and I am almost 100% sure that she is jokingly referring to her son.
Tan will be along shortly, I am sure, to put her comment into more context.
You are absolutely right tho' people should care very much what happens to their pets. They are a responsiblity and as such should be treated with the utmost respect.
sorry belinda i was jokingly refering to my son (who has adhd) a lot of the general forum comers do know this and i hope realise i was joking! After a little social gathering at my house where he was literally bouncing of the walls i made this joke
sorry for worrying you and you are of course right about treating animals right
