What gender is a computer?
A language teacher was explaining to her class that in French, nouns, unlike their English counterparts, are grammatically designated as masculine or feminine.
For example,
"House" in French, is feminine........"La maison". "Pencil" in French, is masculine...."le crayon".
One puzzled student asked, "What gender is a computer?"
The teacher did not know, and the word was not in her French dictionary. So for fun she split the class into two groups, appropriately enough, by gender, and asked them to decide whether "computer" should be a masculine or a feminine noun. Both groups were required to give four reasons for their recommendation.
The men's group decided that computer should definitely be of the feminine gender ('la computer"), because:
1. No one but their creator understands their internal logic;
2. The native language they use to communicate with other computers is incomprehensible to everyone else;
3. Even the smallest mistakes are stored in long term memory for possible later review; and
4. As soon as you make a commitment to one, you find yourself spending half your wages on accessories for it.
The women's group, however, concluded that computers should be masculine ('le computer") because:
1. In order to do anything with them, you have to turn them on;
2. They have a lot of data but still can't think for themselves;
3. They are supposed to help you solve problems, but half the time they ARE the problem; and
4. As soon as you commit to one, you realise that if you had waited a little longer, you could have gotten a better model.
The women won.
No surprise there then!!! rolleyes
Definitely female.
They lull you into a false sense of security by appearing to do what you want them to do and then they start playing up at the last minute. Usually when you are in a hurry and time is critical!! rolleyes
Agree Will def female..
just when you think you have a clue about which buttone to press for the desired response, they go and change so you need a whole new sequence of buttons... but hey how could I live without them... call me greedy but I have a harem of them ( computers) to service smile :) :)

Tempermental - to describe a womans state of mind! rotflmao
Ladies and Gentlemen....Mesdames et Monsieurs
You are all quite quite wrong!!!!!
It's obvious to me.....They are BISEXUAL!!!!!
Masculine (MALE) when they are working.........
Feminine (FEMALE) WHEN THEY CRASH
Female also when they multitask!
female for sure !
when you do something wrong, it performs a critical error, and needs an update to resolve the problem !

Mine's female:
It starts with a 'welcome' and fanfare of trumpets.
It then 'boots up' while I wait in eager anticipation'
I then get a 'log on' and whisper my'password' into its delicate, cultured brain
Before proceeding I check it for nasty virus.
I press all the 'right buttons' and extend my finger , repeatedly, around the mysterious button hidden within its welcoming little 'mouse'
All is well..I risk a sortie around the warm, throbbing portal...all is still well...I venture to network with another throbbing portal, out there in cyberspace...
Bugger me :
She freezes; 'error' message ; 'your system will now be closed down' is blared out at me;
Jumping Jehosaphat: when will they accept that 'networking' leads to a better , all-round, experience????? dunno
