I bought a dongle on the 3 network, bloody rubbish!
My niece uses vodafone and never had any problems.
Really wished I had'nt listened to the bloody salesman in the phone shop!
check with the hotel concerned they may offer a wifi connection at a set price for your stay .. other wise check which has the best coverage for the areas you will be using a dongle most often as most do a 30 day contract and at £30 approx per dongle it can make browsing expensive .. but o2 do a pay as you go version that allows you to top up on a day to day basis or a week basis or a month, this is the only company that does this option i believe. making it in my opinion a more realistic option especially if you only intend to use a dongle occasionally
Whatever you buy do NOT buy 3.....it really is the worst out there, and no suprise the cheapest.
Thank you for your reply Browning this what am wondering x
Some good info there Sara will give a o2 look as my Mobile phone with them. xx
Actually you can get a pay-as-you-go option on the 3G dongle. I've not had any problems with it and the speed is superb.
Furthermore you can also buy a wifi adaptor for the 3G dongle which will give you wireless access throughout your home and allow more than one computer access to the internet.

Thanks loverNkitty happy to see it went well for you, but now something to think about this wifi adaptor.

We have one on 3 that easy got before we moved here. It was pretty good most of the time. The only problem with it was when we moved here as it's the middle of nowhere and mobile signal isn't good. We got the broadband here sorted pretty quick so now just use it away from home and never had a problem with it.
Thanks everyone, going to checkout the o2 and the vodaphone dongle.

Thanks for the tip voda_babe22uk xx
Have a look on Ebay for an unlocked dongle that will accept sim cards from Tmobile, 02, Vodaphone etc. Should cost approx No contract just obtain sim card and top-up as required. Use whichever gives the best signal or have one of each sim card.
I have to say, in my experiece, I use Vodafone and this isnt good either..... 3g dongles generally aint what they shold be!!!
I don't understand the dongle thing. I have wireless in my laptop. Is that the same thing?
a dongle is so that you can access broadband while away from your home wireless network and is paid for seperatly to the broadband payments you currently pay for using your landline phone. but also a dongle can be the wireless stick that you can use to access your wireless network at home if you dont have a wireless card built in to your laptop
I've had a t-mobile Dongle for about 18 months now. and never had any problems with it.. perfect on the train most of the time.
as i've just moved house, and not too sure how long i'm staying here, ive not invested in proper broadband, so been using my dongle as the main method, and its not let me down... the package i'm on in with 3GB usage (about 100mb a day). which tends to last me, as long as i dont go surfing Youtube too much.
the added bonus to T-mobile,, is that they dont charge you if you go over your usage.. all they simply do is cut the types of sites you can view between the hours of 4pm - 12am. these sites are mainly flash based or video streaming one.. which also included the SH chatroom, and some face book applications. but you can still surf the basic stuff like msn.
