Mine was a MK3 ford cortina, bright red with an 8 track in it.
I had a red VW beetle conversion.
It had been made into a "convertible" with a roof which fastened down with press-studs, silver paint ( instead of chrome) and a 1.6 twin-cam engine.
The thing that the previous owner had forgotten to repair was the rust... the floor of the car was full of holes and was a total deathtrap... particulalry when i used to squeeze upto 6 people in there.. with all that weight bearing down on a floor which resembled a paper doilly.
i ended up killing the engine because of forgetting to put any oil in it.
It cost nearly as much to repair the car as it did to buy it.... so i got it done up even more and sold it on.... and concentrated on the "luxury end " of the market....
peugeot....hahaha
