Always one for nostalgia I've just been going through some old photos and come across one of my first ever (road going) car a 1981 Ford Cortina :scared: was origionaly a 1.6 Ltr untill I fitted it with a V6 ( if I remember) oh how the insurance company loved me when I rang for quotes. Lovingly resprayed with paint stolen from work It was my pride and joy...................................well untill I replaced it with an XR3 (no i) that would at least start every morning lol
So come on fess up what piles of crap did the rest of you potter around in during your youth
In edit: due to the fact its still driving like a bag of shite some would say I still potter around in a pile of crap redface
No such stories from me I'm afraid!
Ford Focus is the best I can do!
Y reg grey fiesta 1.1. For no good reason I loved that car. Is it always like that the first time?
I don't remember much about my first car but it was a little blue mini biggrin
I've lost count how many cars I've had over the last *cough* years but my 1st one was a lada Estate ( I kid you not rolleyes ) It was an ex taxi, I was forever getting flagged down ( and no Officer I did not pick up that little old lady laden with her shopping ) and it had go-faster stripes on too. I hasten to add, the stripes didn't work confused
Other cars have included various Fords from Grenadas to Escorts, a Peugeot 605 :inlove: and an XJ6 ( my baby  ) I also still have the front numberplate from my Orion that was nicked and burnt out as it was the only salvagable thing left :?I was the proud owner of a few Dagenham Dustbins in my time
I had an Austin Allegro first but the subframes were rotten so never got it on the road.
The first car i used on the road was an Opel Kaddet (same as the Vauxhall Chevette) saloon.

Exactly
I still looved it though. It was so low it felt like a gokart.
The Allegro was known as the All Aggro lol
the first car I ever drove was a red ford escort belonging to my older brother... had more lights on the front than a bleeing search party and I still remember the registration number.
The first car I kinda of owned was a ford orion although it was my ex whose name was on the registration document.
The first car I have ever really had to call my own with my name on the registration documents, insurance and repair bills is the one I bought a few months ago... my ikkle vw polo
Oh
Used my dads car first which was a Chrysler Alpine (Crashed)
I',ve had two Triumph Dolomites (1500 and 1850). Never managed to get the Sprint version.
Austin Maestro (Crashed)
Vauxhall Chevette, Nova SRi (Crashed), Astra 1.4 CD, and currently on a Cavalier 2.0 which i had in 1995 at two years old and its still going strong with only one break down (8 year old battery buggered up) Also had a new cat fitted this year.

'kin ell hun, you ever thought of riding a bike instead??
Mine was a blue Fiat cinquecento. It had dodgy central locking and it unlocked itself regularly. Not good. And sometimes it just wouldn't go into gear, any gear. But it did have a sun roof. So not all bad

austin allegro 1.1 burgundy with two ( count em ) gold go faster stripes, a tiny racing car steering wheel, pumped up shockers at the rear and smalle tyres at the front...break lights on the rear window......oh remember the crappy wooden consuls from halfords ..one of them had my cassette player in that wow it was a cracker biggrin

Earthy xx
not sure my first "cage" counts as it only had three wheels! yep sorry to admit it but i did buy a robin reliant & to make it worse it was a van redface my excuse is i needed a van for work & only had a bike licience & seeing as the plastic pig was classed as a trike i could drive it without passing another test smile
my first real car was an old beat up ford escort mexico cool now that car was class :) only trouble is if you took hands off steering wheel it would quite happily go round a roundabout without crashing
ahhh the good old days biggrin :D
I bought my first car when I lived in Australia..... I bought it in 1985 and it was a 1967 Hillman Hunter.... Not a speck of rust on it and ran like a dream biggrin
A nice Rolls Royce for the weddings will do me! cool
Well mine was an old Y reg 1.4 Ford Escort that suffered the black death!!! next was a Suzuki Swift GTI that went like the clappers and cost £1300 to insure third party!!!
Saldy numerous cars later, I've got a diesel Xantia. Time for a mid life crisis. wink
Mine was a Reanualt 5GTI and went very well..............
My first car was a little 1.0 nissan micra which i learnt to drive in, needed a clutch by the time i past my test, but it was a great little run around.
Once i got a bit more confident on the road i progressed onto 'His' 3 lt supra that was cool..... till i blew the engine up ... redface
We got that fixed up then part ex'd it for a 2 lt Avensis that we shared
Then last year part ex'd the Avensis for my mitsubishi Carisma 1.9 summat or other, and a few weeks later He got His mitsubishi 3 lt GTO import.

Sarah, if that was the Turbo I always wanted one of those!!!!
I want a Triumph Stag or GT6
Mine was a Triumph something (can't remember!), old M reg and dark green.
Then had a Datsun 100A, old P reg and gold.
Then a VW Derby, old X reg and red.
Then we've bought cars together.
I currently drive a Renault Megane and he drives a Hyundai Accent.
