Wouldn't take a lot at the moment, things are just getting worse and worse, on the forum and in my reg chat room - makes ya wonder why ya bother sometimes!!!

Yep agree hunni, AND it would sharp make you realise which of the ones who 'care' would be there for you sad

omg....seems like theres a lot of it in the air....when I started this thread it was cos I was feeling low, (TMI but its hormones lol) and when I feel low I question everything in my life......
seems Im not the only one who not finding it a shiny happy place to come....and I thought it was just me.
maybe we should have the munch to end all munches and take over an island somewhere and all meet up for one HUGE love in :giggle:

I do agree that sometimes this place, other places and real life in general can be pretty horrible at times, but when it comes to the forums and the chat rooms, we are the only ones who can make a difference.
I know some will come back and say whats the point, there is too much bother and back bitting going on, too much real life stuff to deal with (insert as appropriate) but we are the only ones who can make a difference and make this place what we want it to be. We need to get off our arses and do something about it. As to the ones who cant be arsed, well perhaps it is time you realised that perhaps some people are sick of listening about how fed up you are (that is NOT aimed at anyone, it is just a general observation and there is no hidden message there as I am as much to blame as anyone for moaning). Bad feeling seems to generate more bad feeling, so we need to do something about it!
Alternatively, we could go for Mrs BD's island

spot on!!!!!..
if the forums are in a moody way, then i'll spend all my time in the chatroom.. and if my usual room on the Chat, is not its self i will just find another one... on a whole there are a lot of great people on here. it about finding them.
those that know me, will know that i'm not here for the "cliche" or ever get involved with any of the bitchyness.... i'll log in, enjoy the banter, and get to the socails. and this is the bits i love about the site.
most night i come in, i enjoy it.. but that maybe becuase i make sure i do, by enjoying the banter, and not involving my self with any under current issues that i see.
back to the original Question "what would take me to leave"..... i have tried to flounce many times and failed... i've thought "this is it.. time i went down another path".. but i log out for a few days and i miss the place.. i miss the people who make this site great. and i for one would miss a lot of you if you were to decided to bugger of for good. s its everyone as a whole that makes this site the site it is.
which leaves only 2 other ways i would leave
1 - a life time ban... which hopefully i'd never get
or
2 - for the Big doors of SH to close and for everyone to be evicted!

You hit the nail on the head.
I seem to feel the same way :-(
Not feeling sorry for myself or moaning but it seems to sum up how I feel and have felt for a while now....
Dont get meets really (have had a couple but not a fantastic strike rate in almost 5 years is it :lol2: )....
Suppose I only stay for the chance to go to a munch now and again.....
How could anyone consider leaving here?
The fun and games. The cut and thrust of debate. The arguements and the flouncing. It's brilliant.
The cafe is so educational. Where else could you learn the correct etiquette for a BJ? redface
What we need are less maurdlin threads like this and more of 's lovebombs. The Forum is what we make it.
Oh I'd leave if someone offered me money or even sex. Does that happen here?
I have had moments of doubt but I wouldn’t leave I have just renewed my yearly subscription, plus another on the other woman’s.
I feel touchy when things are going on in my private life, like my mothers illness then I feel very vulnerable to what others say or do stupid things hurt and anger me then, where normally I just take no notice.
I think we all need to think is it this place that gets to you is just the general feelings in life?
I have also counted the amount that said they have considered leaving here it is I believe about 5 haven’t we all felt that at times but hey we are all still here.
So I say lets party have fun and see the positives here, the negatives are always easier to find.
I would say don't get to wrapped up in people and be here for yourself.
I come back and forth on the site. The forum I post on rarely these days as I tend to go in the chatroom. But I always come back here to just have a nose around and see who is about. I used to pour my heart out in the forum - not on this account smile. I have cancelled a number of times but there is something about the format of this site and the people that keeps my interest.
I do feel its all a bit quieter lately but actually thats okay too! New people arrive and old faces return and the fun begins again.
Its funny when we talk about life being harder. Always think back to the 80's when I really was broke and remember that actually life isnt quite that hard. There are good days and pretty crap ones but on the days that the sun shines and someone makes me smile then thats okay :)
I dont know if the site is tetchy, havent encountered too much of that lately but as woohoo says, take it too seriously??? no!
SH is like an old pair of smelly slippers to me. Good to slip on when I feel the need but have other options as well.
Anyway for all those that post on a regular basis - well done, keep going as I really do enjoy reading what you put!

Its probably time for the 'new blood' to have the run of the forums.
The lifers here know how these threads are going to run most of the time. And more than recently there has been a high turnover of the topics, traffic directing and accelerated conversations designed to bring a rapid conclusion to the thread. Perhaps some of the threads have been forced into being, and its just too intensive and a little competitive too.
Or people digging in their heels with the agree to disagree principle. With that kind of presence people are unlikely to feel they will have a voice that will be listened to.
Time to let the 'young' people run about and do the grafting now. So sit back and enjoy as people feel free to take the helm and do it how they want to. They need to learn and yearn. And the occasional input to keep things on track.

Is not the "agree to disagree" a good vehicle to allow exactly that? People can air thier views without too mush fear of descent into chaos... the counter-view can be presented... discussion held. No-one dies.

yes in that way you are right. But I think I mean that if an argument has reached an impasse, its best to accept it and drop it, rather than continuing to find alternative ways to arrive at the same point.
But then agin you might want to agree to disagree rolleyes
But I don't know what would actually make me want to leave. Its not so bad here after all. smile

have to Admit that I have been teetering on the edge lately... and like the other tight-fisted ladies lol  I wouldn't pay to come back....
hopefully the new year health wise and wealth wise will be a bit kinder to me.....

Do what I did recently and take an break. I asked Admin to put a block on my account for a couple of days in the hope that the recent bitching and vitriol would have subsided. I came back in this evening and found that, on the whole the atmosphere has improved though one or two posts have shocked me purely by the venom I never thought could be produced by such a seemingly easy going forumite
