White rabbits, white rabbits, white rabbits. Pinch, punch, the first of the month.
Happy September everyone biggrin
I think September has to be one of my favourite months.
Firstly it's the month of my birthday (so pressies)
Kids go back to school after a long holiday
The nights start to draw in which I quite like as I feel like a grown up going out in the dark at night lol
The leaves start to fall and go golden and red
Conkers start to fall by the end of the month and I still love them
Which is your favourite month and why?
Punch Kick For Being So Quick!
I love the conker falling months coz a few conkers in a room will ward off spiders... I hate spiders! redface
...oh btw, Happy Birthday you sexy mids country cracker! :inlove:

September and October - for exactly the same reasons as you lol
I just lurrrve Autumn.
I love Autumn too. I have a busy month ahead. My birthday  36 !! A big night out with my friends coming to stay and taking the toon by storm. Two of my best friends have birthdays too and I get to tell them again, just how wonderful they are.
Swinging wise wor lass and I are busy.
The weather is always wonderful with rain and wind and leaves to 'shush' through. My fire is in and I am remembering all the tricks from my youth to keep it lit. The renovations are almost complete and it is just cosmetic work to do..so my house will be done by the new year to the most part. All in all September is shaping up to be the best month of an already fantastic year.
Bugger! And there was me thinking someone was going to describe how they shagged Grace Slick on a drug-hazed afternoon in 1968
awwwwwwww sparky ya big softy :inlove:
i love autumn too i like the nights drawing in coming home to a roaring fire all my fave comfort foods the colours on the trees and the brown dessert of the fields
but in the same vein i love spring seeing the nights get lighter the blossoms on the trees the spring flowers pushing through and wearing less clothes
so not a fave month but 2 fave seasons lol i have always been a greedy girl
Think I'm greedy too. I love March. The howling winds and blinding, driving rain. Going for windy wet walks in the Black Mountains and coming home and lighting the Rayburn and cooking home made soup from fresh. Ahh heaven.
New growth also starts to appear in much larger quantities too. Not just in plants but in animals too. My favourite day of the year : March the 1st, St David's Day.
I also love October. My birthday falls in this month. And I am reminded of the lovely Dylan Thomas "Poem in October".
Happy birthday venus68 when it comes around.

O may my heart's truth
Still be sung
On this high hill in a year's turning.

Still be sung
On this high hill in a year's turning.

heron priested shore.....winged trees flying my name.....And I walked abroad in a shower of all my days....roadside bushes brimming with whistling blackbirds....sea wet church the size of a snail....parables of sunlight....
I'm on cloud nine now! These are some of my favourite phrases from this lovely poem.

An absolute pleasure! Dylan Thomas was the only answer I got right on University Challenge tonight!
May is one of my favourite months: "For it giveth unto all lovers courage, that lusty month of May." (Malory?)
Right, enough of literature! Fancy a shag?
Father Christmas brings me presents in December.
That's nice. I'd like a train set this year and a bike. Maybe he won't eat all the mince pies and drink all the sherry this year.
Come to mention it, thieving old git better not take the telly, the dvd player, £250 quid in savings, all the beer and the entire Elvis record collection and he'd better use the Chimney rather than breaking the back window.
I'll be waiting for him this year...
I hate December...
....
January's good though... I like January because.......
(Happy Birthday by the way, I don't know you, but it sounds nice....)

I do wish I could get something out of poetry, but alas I find that allegory, metaphor and other such ethereal word painting totally eludes me. It makes no sense at all to me. Genuinely. This isn't an attempt to trash it.
When I was at school taking my O Levels (the real ones, not the slurpy ones) I could never figure out why I could get an A in English Language, be an inveterate book reader yet embarrassingly manage an Unclassified in English Literature.
I didn't find the answer for another 31 years. rolleyes

poetry takes inspiration and passion, to write, listen to, and to read. therefore there should be something somewhere that appeals to you.

Nope, unfortunately I can't find appeal in something I don't understand. It literally doesn't make sense to me. It's a jumble of words that don't conform to the sort of sentence structure I do understand.
recently i've had excellent inspiration for writing.
whips

Don't get me wrong, I love books with a passion, so much so that I collect modern first edition hard backs. The problem is that I can only read a certain type of book. For example, when I was at school we did The Lord of the Flies. To me it was a simple and uninspiring kid's adventure yarn. All the time the teacher was going on about "this bit means such and such and he was writing to imply such and such". All that was total bollox to me. I can only read what's on the page, hence my mention of allegory earlier. This is one of the downsides to Asperger's, i.e. the inability to not take things literally. Admittedly I'm not as bad as I used to be, but it's taken a lifetime to learn the little I do understand of subtext.
There's a lovely cold nip in the air this morning... ooh how I love it!
AND
the street is quiet, the kids have gone back to school!

October
love the weather we get and i can start getting excited about christmas (without embarrassing myself)
Always go away half term week which is usually more chilled than summer holidays,
and it starts getting colder so more excuse to snuggle up hump
I quite like the winter....
especially when there is a heavy layer of snow and the way the snow insulates the sounds of passing cars etc and makes it so quiet...

Just had 2 very very quiet weeks away and hating the loudness of living in a town at the minute
I always loved August. Now I love September. Fresh apples from the tree. Still an air of herbs in the garden, if the sun comes out. Not yet cold enough to have to rap up.

Very surreal Peanut.
Do you think they'll all got it.
Maybe they should go ask Alice when she's 10 feet tall
Better keep of the mushrooms
lol
Autumn is lovely to look at with all the trees changing to reds and golds but it reminds me that winter is coming.
I love the spring months, March & April. The earth coming back to life and the promise of the summer to come.
remember what the doormouse said!!!

Aye if you want to play footie wink
Actually I get a 'nip on' at the most random of times. Do men get erections when they least expect or want them?
