Find something else more constructive to do?
clear your cookies and cache files etc, if it doesn't work try turning off your firewall and virus protection to retry it. remember to switch them back on again.
BTW, you haven't recently installed windows/messenger live V8 or whatever it is Microsoft are blowing their trumpets about at the moment, it's always best to wait for the major bugs to be sorted efore installing 'new' versions

I'd do nothing. It happens every so often so I'd just give it half an hour and try again
according to help pages by doing a simple google search .... make sure your clock is set correctly and this should solve the problem also make sure you have updated the msn you are using
I read that NETGEAR routers can be problematic with messenger Grrr guess its going back to pcw in the morning!

 Yep, had the same problem with an old laptop that has a dodgy 3v battery (hence looses time). Reset the time and date and it's game on biggrin
