Women posing as men?
Pass me the sick bag confused
I believe I am talking to a guy about this point.

Oh, excuse me then confused I thought you had asked Blue for examples. If you were, then you aren't talking to a guy. Blue is a girl.

Must confess, I was hoping this would be literally about female -> male transvestitism... I find that kinda arousing... in a strange kind of way ;-)
Ah, the life of a confused sub...
I can understand that a woman posing as a man will have a far better insight in how to get a response from a female advertiser, or by getting a good response from women and/or couples by creating her own advert (posing as a man). This being in the hetero scenario. Getting into the bi and gay psyches would be easier and instantly more productive.
However would it not lead to problems if she exposed her true identity?
Would this not be condemned as 'timewasting', by the duped genuine hetero women and/or couples?
I think many of us have done the fake identity thing. I know I have and it can work for and equally against me. I would be more selective to where and when I had that kind of thrill. I know I would be tempted again at some time to do it. But generally I try not to now.

In answer to your several questions throughout this thread....
The original question was about females posing as males in the ads, to which I answered, yes, I've posed as a male in ads, though not on this site. The question was not "have you ever had sex with someone who thought you were a member of the opposite sex". If that was the question, I would answer, don't know and don't care. If people meet me they can make up their own mind about my sex and my gender. I am not going to impose my opinions on anyone. If you believe you are talking to a guy, that is fine... that is your opinion and you are entitled to it. I find it very easy to lead people to believe that I am male, it is much easier for me to "be" a guy than it is to "be" a girl in online discussions. People on the forum who have met me in real life will have their own opinions, and again, they are entitled to them.
I have no idea what you mean when you say that a female posing as a male will have more insight into female advertisers, I dont know, I always posed as a gay/bi man and chatted to blokes. Having said that, as Martin, I did make an ongoing online friendship with a male to female transsexual called Rosie.... so maybe I did fool a woman?
Yes, it is timewasting and I felt guilty at the time about "fooling" people I became online friends with, but everything I told them about myself was true apart from my name is not really Martin... but my name is not really Blue, so do you feel fooled now? I never set up a meet and never turned up, and never outright asked for meets, so timewasting in real life did not happen. Occassionally I invent a character on some chat room or other and run with it for an evening.... and usually that is to take the piss out of sad gits..... but hey, I really don't feel guilty about that flipa
What was the question again????

Have you got any examples?

I've got lots of examples. On a site I used to frequent, a long long time ago (I'd say going back ten years), I was known as Martin, I had lots of friends and no-one ever sussed me.I could have had loads of meets if I'd have persued them.More recently, maybe 5 years ago, again on a site now dead I used to pose as different male characters. Boring straight characters never got anything of course, but make the character interesting and bingo, loads of people want to talk and meet. There is a chat site I use very occassionally still if I want a laugh. If I log on there as a young bi male or a TV I get a whole nights worth of laughs.
See, loads of examples of my fake characters cool
My god, your starting to think like a man Blue!
I dont think many women pretend to be men, more likely that its men assuming everyone is a potencial female - I cant be the only man who gets PMs from single straight men referring to posts I've made, who couldn't read or couldn't be bothered to read? mad

Try posting in Lets Meet Up stating you want a shag and where you come from.
This approach to posting clearly identifies you as male, but you could put Man... want shag... I come from...
Then count the straight men who got so excited by the word shag they dont read either your sex, sexual preference or even your location.

They do say that a hundred years or more ago, it wasn't unknown for women to pose as men, especially in journalism etc, as they were denied opportunities due to what we would now call sexual discrimination against them.
How times change.

Yes true, has anyone seen Tipping the Velvet, they'll know what i mean. Great series if you havent seen it.
Rainbows rushes in.....Did someone mention Tipping the Velvet??!!!
If you liked that - they are serialising Fingersmith next month!! Yippeeeeee
Ahem - no I am not an obvious Lesbian. Noooooo - not at all confused
Never read Affinity or Fingersmith, but will def watch it on tv, if Tipping the Velvets anything to go by. Thanks for the tip off Raiinbows smile
I can understand the negative response if someone pretends to be something they are not, it's just bloody stupid and let's face it, if you are going to shag someone they are going to get a big shock when they see you don't have the right bits in your pants and chances are they are going to react badly, especially if they are trying to seduce a very straight person.
Something I have discovered since I started swinging is that there is someone for everyone, it doesn't matter who you are, somebody is going to wanna party with you. So why deceive when there is someone who wants to be with the real you?
