Following on from xxdevil69's grammar question, what's your most disliked misuse of a word in everyday emails and forum posts?
Mine is "loose" when the writer means "lose"
Lose - When will I lose my sex drive?
Loose - The lead broke so the dog is loose.
Surely everyones favourite must be
Discrete which is something completely seperate and distinct to discreet.
their they're there (theirhouse, they'renot coming after all, over there)
your you're (yourthing that belongs to you, you'rea taxi)
General apostrophe abuse....

Like it or not textspeak is a progression,it exsists now and expresses something of value to those who use it.I refused to have a mobile phone until 2 years life is now totally different because of it.
Language seems so complex and everchanging,and the speed of its evolution nowadays is we are with a form of communication here in the internet that barely exsisted to the majority of us a decade ago.I'd never even heard of the information superhighway then.
I think its only a bit off when you see the zero effort in the typical male I need a shag lower case type post. But that isn't aimed at me is it?(Well..I hope not!)
