Hi folks !
Can I have some help please?
I need ideas of jobs that can be done from home. I wondered who I could ask and thought of all you lovely sexy helpful people. I know some of your ideas are going to be downright rude and unthinkable cool (although I won't dismiss them out of hand ) but the reason for my post is a serious one so I would really appreciate it if you could come up with some ideas that I may not have thought of.
Thanks alot folks

ironing dunno there's loads of people out there like me who doesn't like ironing or don't get time.
good money as well. My mum paid a lady 35 quid for three hrs ironing. Not bad if you can afford it!!

Liking this thread hun kiss
As some of you know, since Mrs. Pete’s departure, things have been a little tough on the nipper , to such an extent that I have had to become a ‘home educator’ this is working out fine for us, apart from the fact that it is getting increasingly difficult to earn a living so I for one will be watching this thread with great interest as home working would be the ideal solution.
A quick word of caution, could anyone with genuine info please PM company details, links, url’s to FL, as I would hate to see this thread get locked.
Thanks wave

That's a good idea  I hate ironing with a vengeance evil though wish I could afford to pay someone to do it for me.
My ex's aunt in Croydon started her own business doing just that and she expanded it to house cleaning and now has a thriving business with 5 people working for her  From little acorns hunni
Be careful of those companies promising you megabucks for working from home though
My brother had a spud round once. He use to get the huge sacks delivered to him and then bag them himself and delivered to the old people who had trouble carrying them for themselves. There may be some room to adapt the idea with the local shop fast disappearing dunno
pete , fire have snet you a pm

Try your local council... ours has developed a Homeworking Directory that lists all the companies in and around the area that use homeworkers... or, set up an ebay business...you can buy and sell almost anything on there... maybe buy old clothes from a jumble sale or charity shop and 'do them up' to sell at a profit?? Good luck with it anyway!
you can come & do my ironing anytime hun wink
Thanks for the PM's and info Felix, will look into it

ok pete keep us infomed biggrin
I ran a business working from home for five years, Internet selling. OK the good points everyone knows but if you're selling to the general public, and I was, then you have to be there every week of the year, and that's a BIG downside. I found I could take Friday - Tuesday long weekends without too much hassle, and business trips too if I had access and a phone, I just had to switch off the Express Delivery option.
These days I'm just selling stuff on eBay, but even with eBay I find that the more I do it the better it gets. If I stop for three weeks I have to start all over again, you grow a crowd and they move on from one auction to the next so each one becomes more successful.
So any "business" from home, as opposed to lower income "working from home" comes with a price tag you may not wish to pay.

I used to sell stuff on ebay and it`s definitely worth it. I`ve had to stop it since becoming single and not having spare money for stock or room to store it but I used to buy shoes, slippers and boots from wholesalers. You`d be amazed at how cheap a pair of leather boots REALLY is!
I also used to buy stock of rune stones, other metaphysical items and incense from an online wholesaler who delivered to my door so I didnt have to use transport to get it. You`d need to incorporate the delivery charge into the price you charge for it but after doing this and getting it listed all you then need to do is toddle off down the post office a couple of times a week.
There is also a trade show sometime in Feb/March, I think, which may give you some ideas for things you could sell easily and cheaply online. If you invent a "company name" and send off for tickets/passes nobody knows you arent a trader really, but you can get in for a good look round.

I too tried that, and for a while it went ok, my problems began with the relisting fees, really ate into my proffits, gave up in the end.

.
If an item doesnt sell first time the relist is free of charge. If it still doesnt sell you need to list it (not with the relist option) then use the free relist option again if necessary. It cuts down on listing fees.
There are also the 5p listing days and offers which help.
Doing some research beforehand as to what might be a good idea to sell helps to stop you being left with something you cant sell, and then a look around the show can give ideas for popular quirky things which are light on postage.
I tried working from home once selling myself................
I went out of business rolleyes
And there`s also the ebare website where people sell used knickers and allsorts of other personal items (used!)
Not that I do that kind of thing, somebody else told me about it! innocent
Ive been doing my homework on working from home for about a year now. Its a scary thought but also exciting.
Next year will be the right time for me to move in another direction. I already know what I shall be doing and its hard to get known so I shall have to market/promote/network what Im doing well... confused I have a lot to learn in a short space of time!!
If your setting up your own small business, there is help out there for you. Im going to take advantage of whatever is on offer.
Good luck to everyone, wish you well......... smile

That sounds like the Spring fair at The NEC, Birmingham (also an autumn fair in october) check the National Exhibition Centre website for details on dates and tickets.
Very good if you're interested in selling Jewelery/homewares etc.
Most of the trade shows can be visited for free without being a trader

Try your local Buisness Link/Chamber of Commerce, they'll have all the contacts or details you need
