This thread has been quite lighthearted, but I wonder whether the vetting process would exclude anyone with certain "lifestyle" interests because it posed a blackmail risk? I suppose the only way this could be answered would be by someone actually workimg within the security service and that isn't very likely. I just would have thought that even being here would disqualify most of us.

Only if this wasn`t my work.
GCHQ is a listening post.
Its the boys who have to go and extract the MI5 Agents that i would like to praise.
bucsfun cpl and bushwackers both raised some good points, i have worked within the security (HM Royal Marines) area and it would be a nightmare to be captured behind enemy lines only for them to torture you by reading some of the threads i had put on here and mistakenly thought anyone would be interested in lol
On a more serious note, the security agencies like MI5 and the Special forces play a key role in many areas of our National security and public safety but it is NOT very glamorous (so i have been told), and they are granted little or no thanks. TV programmes such as that crap with Ross Kemp and his SAS team are so ficticious and glorified it is laughable mad ......
anyway enough of my rants i want to be James Bond (the Roger Moore one. soooo much better than any of the others) and i want to get to sleep with Pussy Galore mmmmm......

Well i've actually thought about doing work for the ministry of defense.. in i suppose their biological warfare division... as with my skills... actually... bad as it would be to say..i'd be chuffing good at it... although my skills could be put to good use for vaccine development against bacterial and nerve agents.... hey.. who knows.. i might get a job offer via this

I can remember looking at joining MI5... the first thing it said was: "If your thinking of joining MI5 don't tell anyone your thinking about it" ... otherwise it blows a bit of a hole in your anonymity biggrin :D

Actually I was looking at a job on the website for MI5 the other week biggrin Nothing fancy like but even that meant the recruitment process would take about 9 months  Would hate to think how long an important job would take.
Only thing that put me off was relocating (I hate moving house)

Yes and they offer you a lousy £15,000 starting pay which is poverty wages if you live in London.
The recruitment process takes 9 months whilst they do a personal and background check, starting with what you had for breakfast to what colour knickers your grandmother wore when she first met your granddad. lol They are thorough.

Only if they wanted me to fuck ladies till they confessed lol
