Well I hope not.
Last night proved to me the whole thing is a fix. For Ruth to leave instead of that Diana, who sounds like she has swallowed a Brillo pad, was nothing short of a scandal.

I don't think there was ever any doubt these shows are a fix?! They're planned from day one, the winners sourced well in advance.
Having been asked to do similar via dancing, I would never participate and don't bother watching for that reason (well, apart from strictly!)

I think it's very manufactured, but there's nothing to suggest it's completely rigged - do you mean that they just ignore the public voting?
Of course it looks Diana and Eoghan are going to be in the final because the public (us!) like them, like John Sargeant, not because they are the best singers - but that doesn't mean it's rigged!

But just why do the public like them and want to vote for them? Because that's precisely the reason they were chosen for the show.
They were headhunted by producers long before, who already had the show planned out.
The audition process is really just to find the stupid funny awful singer acts etc, and all of them audition in front of producers first, and then are selected for the TV appearance in front of the 'real' judges.
The votes don't need to be rigged, they are rigged long before by clever TV editing and clever choice of participants and clever media write ups. The audience will always vote for the ones the producers want.
I'm sure this series had the outrage over a contestant being voted off- I can't think of a better way for the producers to pull in a bigger audience that to manufacture such a drama!

Quite how the TV company get away with such mass deceit is beyond me.
I love the maths 100k hopefuls lets say 1 minute in front of the judges thats 100k minutes. 100k minutes is 1300 hours which at 10 hr working days is about 6 months of Simon and co sitting in exhibition centres bored shitless. Dont happen do it.
Oh and surely I can not be alone in realsing the cynical manipulation of the quality of the auditions by the producers, so easily done with a mixing desk.

I thought Alexandra deserved to win because she was the only contestant (of the final three) to do consistently well. Of the other two acts in the final, Owen who can't spell his name is tone deaf and was only there because the entire population of N.I. kept voting for him and the boy band have only one member who can actually sing - the others were carried by the backing vocalists you never see.
You can tell that this is more of a popularity contest than a talent contest - otherwise why was the tone deaf boy in the final and Ruth Lorenzo, whose Bottom Two sing-off performances were just stunning, wasn't? Answer: It's because there wasn't a Spanish audience voting en masse
Of course the real winner was the same as last year and the year before and the year before that etc etc... there's always one guaranteed winner and his name is Simon.
I won't be buying Alex's single, but if Ruth ever records Purple Rain, I'm first in the queue.
