Ah so thats how my Mum used to know when I had little square friends in the house. funny how from the age of six/seven all I got was "clean your room"! Then as soon as I turned 14/15 she'd be in there every few days clearing out my "rubbish", as soon as I was allowed entry there wouldn't be a kitemark in sight! coincidence? Terrestrial Surveillance? I love summer for a lot of reasons, sunshine, indian summers, drinks in the early evening, being asleep at sunrise but awake at sunset, the purple sky that's happening at the moment, but most of all I love the Festivals! I'm a massive music fan and the summertime to me signals Glastonbury (when it's on!), the V festival, and even download if I'm rich enough! I'm feeling extra summery today as just found out that Radiohead are playing the V Festival and as a Virgin Mobile user I've just got 2 tickets! Very chuffed and getting more excited with every extra minute of each day the sun gives us! Who's got a UK based holiday planned this year?

I am a non-smoker and have been all my life, since childhoodI have been brought up in a family where my parents smoked heavily and I always detested every part of it, the smell, the pollution of air, the way people look with a cigarette in their mouths, and on a larger scale (but not every single smoker, granted) the total lack of disregard for others health and environment by smokers.
My first point is: Smokers have a right to smoke, as long as it doesn't intrude on others rights to breath non-polluted safe air. The negative effects of smoking on health are quite clear and quite astonoshing. Smokers should always uphold the attitude that they choose to smoke, so they should be the ones "inconvenienced" ie: leaving a club to smoke outside, not smoking after a meal, not smoking in work environments.
Secondly, I am frequently incensed by the amount of second-hand smoke I am forced to breathe whilst walking through my local town centre. Walking behind somebody smoking is terrible for a non-smoker, having to breathe in directly the smoke from somebody else, and having to wear the smell on our clothes and skin and hair. I am constantly dipping and diving across paths to avoid this.
Thirdly, When a smoker smokes, they smoke for pleasure and enjoyment, and the waste emission of that is smoke, which they have no problem producing heavily outside, in clubs, or restaurants. When I want to relax and enjoy myself, I drink. The waste emission of my drinking is urine. How do you think a smoker would react if I walked past them on the high street, and flung a jar of p*ss in their face?
So to conclude, I'm glad Blair is looking at banning smoking in public places, it would ensure my vote for Labour for the rest of my life.
P.S. To play devils advocate quickly, all you people moaning that when you come home from a club or bar and have to wash your clothes the next day because they stink, I have to ask you how many days you think it's acceptable to wear a set of clothes for, especially after a night clubbing, when you would sweat anyway? Jackets/coats fair enough, I can understand the aggrievement, but a pair of jeans and a T-shirt I would have thought you wouldn't wear after a night out anyway!

Best ever would have to be Radiohead, Nottingham Arena November 29 2003, I was having a lot of stress at the time, lots of family/work issues going on and as Radiohead are my life I looked forward to this gig since buying the tickets 6 months before. Long story short my favourite song of all time is "Street Spirit" and they play this song as an encore in maybe 2 of 5 gigs, and I prayed for it all night. After an amazing gig, mixing new and old material, along with some of my favourite tracks too, I was raptuous, and when, 2 songs before the end, Thom Yorke picked up his guitar and without words began playing the opening arpeggio to Street Spirit, I was completely lost. I stood in the centre of 50,000 people, tears streaming down my face for three whole minutes as I sung along to something that I held so dear, something that had helped me through so many hard times, and every second that went by another piece of my life just faded away into the air, and finally, when the song was over and the crowd roared, I stood grinning like a lobotomized baboon having the most post-orgasmic chill of my life. I could have died there and then and have had no regrets about anything that had ever happened in my life up to that moment. When the show was over and they went off stage, I didn't say a word until me and my companion had got into a cab outside the stadium. To say that was the most incredible moment of my life is an understatement.
Okay so now you can see how passionate I am about music!
