I have read the differing points of view concerning the swinging stories and some do concern me. I do appreciate the quantity listed does appear to be increasing and something needs to be done but the idea of a panel of selected members assessing others content, grammar and suitability fills me with horror. That is elitism in my view, especially if the said panel contribute themselves, I can imagine them enthusing over each others stories. No offence meant to anyone.
Of course, in my view, any obviously including subjects like , Children, and etc should immediately be removed and those who post them banned.
Some people deliberately form their stories without correct grammar for effect as do some published Authors, others genuinely just write as it comes to mind and perhaps do not have the time or even the education to format correctly but it doesn’t make their contribution less valid or suitable for editing by an individual or panel. Censorship comes to mind.
I have posted a couple of stories and received a mixed response, which is fine, and in the main they have been from members who never post in any of the Forum categories but interestingly nevertheless like to communicate their critique as well as their own thoughts and ideas by e-mail, which is an added benefit for me.
I hope this doesn’t appear to be a whinge, which is not the intention, I think the Site is fantastic and the Swingers Stories are in the main very good and some quite original, so look forward to reading them.
Why not just set a time limit for them to be on view, say a month, and then archive them as a group by month, for reference at a later date if members wish. I don’t have a clue about Computers but surely proficient people like Mark can do that.
Or perhaps a panel of like minded members could be formed to view suggestions, decide and implement the best solution. Sorry <s>
