It took my husband 4 years to convince me to do so, only he didn't come right out and ask. Instead, he was very sly , and made a lot of subtle suggestions. Too detailed to explain in this type of forum.
Now that you have shown your hand, that type of approach isn't going to work. Perhaps you should let her know that if she sees a man she fancies, you would be thrilled to see her just flirt with him. Enough flirting will lead to more in time. It awakens the woman in a woman.
Small steps leads to large gains.
